Increased memory 1,000 fold.
I purchased this book over a year ago because I was struggling to remember simple things. After reading this book by Tony Buzan my memory excelled 1,000 fold. I memorized over 200 bible scriptures (including chapter verse locations), I could sit in a meeting without pen or paper and summarize the entire 60 minute meeting, I could remember where I parked, I could identify peoples faces and names after weeks with only a brief meeting with them, and my wife was stunned. I believe this also helped with my reading as well. I highly recommend this book to those that want to have more effective ways to improve your memory. It is a great read with exercises in the book to help develop your memory.

Nice techniques to help memory.
Lots of ideas and systems to improve memory. Easy reading. Not too difficult to implement. Worth taking a look at and possibly useful.

A landmark book
This is a landmark book. It provides a quick history of memory techniques from the Greeks to the present, then moves onto the actual heart of the matter. Takes motivation to go through the exercises but very worthwhile. If nothing else, once you learn the "Major System", it will give you great confidence in your capacity to remember all kinds of things. There are many knock-offs of this book but it's probably still the best on this subject.

'Another Fine Read'
Tony Buzan, has been in the 'Mind Mapping' business for some considerable number of years. In this book, he covers a very brief history of memory, updates Hermann Ebbinghaus' research, (c. 1885),and capitalizes on Harry Lorayne's methods to present a useful guide to memory improvement for anyone with thatobjecttive in mind.Highly Recommended particularly for students of all ages.,

A good read... but outdated.
The background history on memory provided by Buzan is interesting but a lot of the information discussed is outdated. A wealth of new information has been learned about the brain since 1991. Personally I would recommend Kenneth L. Higbee's "Your Memory: How it Works and How to Improve it." Not only is Higbee's book more thorough in discussing mnemonic techniques, he also delivers memory improvement from a more realistic and practical perspective.
