Diamonds: A Jubilee Celebration (Souvenir Album)

Exquisite!
The jewels are beautiful. The settings are fabulous. I have always appreciated the jewels worn by Her Majesty the Queen and how they can be put together in many different combinations. Stones may be removed fron one piece and easily replaced with other gems. Tiaras become necklaces or headbands, etc. I love their versatility. The photographs are marvelous and the detail shown is amazing. I have one little quibble: a photograph is attibuted to Antony Armstrong Jones, b. 1893. He was born in 1930. I also wish there had been descriptions of the emeralds and rubies, etc. shown in the detailed enlargements. Only the diamonds were described. All in all, a very beautiful book and well worth the price.

beautiful book
If you cant afford the really expensive book about Royal diamonds and jewelry, this is a really good option.Beautiful photos and very nice , informative text. Also, a manageable size, not so big & heavy like coffee table books.Really nice reading.

Great Little Book
It’s not coffee table sized, but it’s really a nice book. Great pics and facts about the pieces.

Lovely photos!
I wanted a book showing some of the royal jewellery as it is so beautiful. This book captures the detail and quality of the pieces really well and gives you a bit of history regarding the origin. What this book lacks though is details regarding the quality of the diamonds and the weights (although it does mention weight occasionally it isn't for the whole piece). I wouls love you know whether the diamonds are all flawless - I'd assume so but are they? These are the sorts of things this book doesn't tell you. I know it's a companion to the tour of the jewels but I'd still want to know what they would cost to make today etc just for fun. Despite this, it's a really nice book.

Fantastic photos
Little thin on the writing side, but amazing photos, that show that these days with the right lighting and cameras and printing you can actually show off jewellery to its best. The jewels come to life, and you can see the settings as well which is unusual.Very interesting.

Great book!
Love this little book, my only complaint is it really smells musty and some pages are a bit yellow.
