Good clinical tool
The book was good for beginning clinical instructors. There were two comments in the book that were not quite accurate. One was referring to NLNAC accreditation for nursing programs and the other comment was made about students working under the licensure of the clinical instructor. Each state board of nursing has their own rules and regulations, and in Ohio, students do not work under the licensure of their clinical instructor and nursing programs do not have to be accredited by the NLNAC to be an approved nursing program. The nursing programs in Ohio must have State Board approval. Otherwise, the book provided good tips for both new and seasoned clinical instructors, ones that I plan to implement.

Excellent Resource
This is an excellent resource for the novice clinical instructor. It validated my feelings of uncertainty when I changed roles as a hospital nurse and went to work as a clinical instructor. The author helped me appreciate that you have to learn how to teach. Her words were plain-spoken and practical. Some nursing textbooks are full of theory and make an effort to impress you with their pseudo-intellectual vocabulary. This book is REAL and has been a big help to me on the job.

Excellent resource of new nursing faculty
This is an excellent handbook for new nursing faculty. I have taught clinical rotations of nursing students for years and find this handbook spot on. The authors have written a book written in a down to earth manner. I hope to use this book as a resource for new nursing faculty in my program.

Great quick read for those new to clinical teaching
This really helped my organize my orientation and post conferences. It also helped me understand my role as the clinical instructor in the hospital setting. HIghly recommend it to new instructors, especially those who are current staff RNs transitioning to clinical instructor.
