A book I didn't think I needed, but found out I did!
I thought I didn't need this book. I can write. I have a heart. But once I started this book, I couldn't put it down. I learned to write better, pay more attention to my emails, and-- most importantly-- I began to "assume positive intent" as Lynn suggests. It kept me from jumping to the wrong conclusions and improved my relationships at work. I bought two more copies to give to my daughters as one works in a government position and one works internationally. They both had exactly the same reaction as I did. "I thought I knew how to write, but I learned some great new techniques." One wondered how she could anonymously give a copy to a co-worker.I plan to reread sections of this book from time to time, whenever I begin a new project or encounter a problematic situation.

I use this book almost every day!
I have used “Business Writing With Heart” almost every day since I bought it a couple months ago. I've used it to reach out to connections, to introduce myself to strangers, to connect colleagues, to say thank you or give feedback or provide positive customer service and gently tell people I couldn't do what they were asking and then tell them what I could do instead. I am always looking for ways to network within an organization. It is very hard to find much, if anything, about building internal cross-department relationships with people you may never meet but who are important to your work. Lynn’s book has been the most helpful resource I've found.

Communication made easy to understand and write
I simply love this book. Has someone every told you - what you write is not what is read? This book is the book for you. You can actually get the first chapter free to review at [...]. This books give you so many different examples and circumstances of everyday situations that you can use starting today. I got that first AHA! moment on page three. I can't wait to read the entire book and gain more insight to my own behavior and how to create a better me in the process. Thank you so much for publishing this book.

Author provides many good explanations and examples of how to write emails
Author provides many good explanations and examples of how to write emails. However when trying to reference them they are hard to find in the book. Too much detail and would like to see improved layout of example emails for quicker reference.

Add this book to your collection! It's a game-changer!
Fantastic book for anyone who ever writes email, snail mail, or text messages in a professional or casual setting! A must read for telecommuters, consultants, and anyone else who works with people without much face to face contact. Stop killing your relationships with sarcasm (your reader thinks your serious) and start building relationships up while maintaining professional poise!I'd give it 10 stars out of 5 if that was an option!

Very helpful
I bought this for our department library at work. I follow Lynn Gaertner-Johnston's newsletters and she always has helpful tips for writing well. I only bought one copy of this book for our library, but I wish I'd bought two copies because the one copy is always checked out.

Great book - All you need for business writing...with heart
Business writing is a subject which is often overlooked. However, it is extremely useful and important in terms of clear and effective communication as well as of preserving and building healthy relationships in the workplace. This is a complete guide that while inspire you to communicate better. It is also very practical and can be used as a quick and effective reference. Overall it is an excellent work and a great book. Highly recommended!

If you believe that Management is all about building relationships....please read this book
It should be prescribed as a mandatory text -book for all Graduate students to help them to become better Human Beings & Managers in that order.The writing is very lucid,easily digestible and can be put into practice straight away in all walks of life.If you are planning to read just one book this year...please make sure this is the one!
