NOISE CANCELLING (FILTERED)
The noise cancelling feature and the toner staying on til you turn it off is why I bought this. I am a phone tech. When you are trying to find your pair in 600 or more pairs that all have current on them every little bit helps. Being 2 miles down the road and not having to go back cause the toner turned off is a plus also. A coworker bought 1 after he seen mine. Sometimes other cables are so noisy that you will never hear your pair without cutting into every cable. This wand is well worth the money, point proven by my coworker hearing mine over the phone, being so impressed that he immediately ordered his. Great toner and wand!!

Makes easy to trace wires! 100% recommend!
If you working as electrician, then this tool you should have in your toolbox, it will makes your life easier! Just to make sure that there’s no power when using on 120V. I was working on commercial shop lighting, there was 18, 12 gauge wires going in the same conduit, that I needed to find out which wire goes where, after getting this tool, it took me 15 minutes, and all wires was sorted and labeled.

This is a great probe for knocking out AC Hum.
Press the button to turn it on, and it will pick up the nearby AC hum, but press the button again, and the AC Hum isGONE!!! This is the only probe I know of with this feature.

Works well, user interface is thirty years out of date, not well thought through.
The user interface and ergonomics are a bit clunky, not a modern product, but for electrical wiring, the functionality is excellent. The instructions and the UI need to brought out of the early eighties, but, it is a good product.

Proven performance
I now have about 3 toner kits from the past 20 years and I keep going back to this model because I need the best for my job as a telephone system technician. This is the same one that used to be made by Tempo and is a bit expensive, bit worth it to me. It's very sensitive and the switchable filter is great for getting rid of AC hum in phone closets from equipment and florescent lighting. AC masking noise can really make it tough to hear your tone at times. Auto shut off and volume control are also nice features.

Works great, did fail me once when the wire ran behind a lot of plumbing pipe. Lost the signal and thought I had a break in the line.
