Lasted 18 months - now useless
Worked well for the first 18 months of having it. Now the part where the upright part meets the base has broken meaning it has to be propped up (suspect this would break quicker if you repositioned the arm more frequently than i have). The switch is also broken so you have to tape it on (but switches off OK).Gave 2 stars as it did work for a while and it was relatively cheap.

Misleading photos of the product
Bought this lamp as no canle has been illustrated, and I’ve been looking for a cordless lamp. It arrived today and it does have a cable. Sadly, the images of the product are very misleading..

Sleek with a good light output
This is a basic and simple lamp but in saying that it does work very well. It comes in a simple box with minimal internal packing, so basically environmentally good in that respect. Once out the box you are greeted with a sleek but simple designed lamp with a slender centre post that holds the lamp head at the top with the base obviously at the bottom with the top half being of a ‘bendy’ or multi angle construction so you can adjust the angle to your needs. There is a small instruction booklet of sorts that is basic, to the point and a helpful guide. There is an in-line on/off switch a few inches from the base within the cable itself that works well with a reassuring click as its operated although my own preference would be a base mounted switch as I personally don’t like these in-line ones as I spend a few seconds finding it as it drapes/hangs down over the edge of my desk but as stated, this is a personal thing. The light it gives out is very good with a good colour tone to it and being of the ‘new fangled’ LED low energy bulb/lamp units, it should be cheap to run in the long term but these have a long service life so not much to worry about getting stacks of replacement lamps!. At the time of this review (August 2018) it was very well priced at around the £18 mark, more so with good value in the low energy lamp fitted so low running costs and so I can’t really fault this product. 5 Stars no probs.

Good stylish lamp but with only one setting and a limited (permissible) angle of use
This is a smart, stylish modern lamp with a squat base giving good stability and a flexible head which can be angled to where the light is required. The LED lamp produces a soft, slightly 'warm white' light via an in-line switch and is ideal for use on an office or home-office desk, for studying or reading and could also be used as a bedside light for reading in bed. There is no glare or flickering and it is comfortable to use.Surprisingly, there is only one illumination level whereas other similar lights I've used have offered a range of 4-10 light levels along with different 'colour temperatures' ie shades of light ranging from cool white to daylight and warm white. Other lamps have also offered a greater degree of flexibility in their angle of illumination ranging from pointing upwards or even backwards as an uplighter and moving through almost an 180° degree plane. This lamp can easily be angled similarly but the instruction leaflet advises against this by stating this is 'not ok'. However, I suspect many potential users will disregard this and position the lamp how they wish, just as some reviewers have. It is certainly stable when flexed at the 'not ok' angles! The LED light-unit is not replaceable and the instructions advise that when this fails, the entire lamp must be replaced which is normal for LED lamps.

Good quality, low energy desk lamp
I have used this lamp as a replacement to a much older halogen desk lamp in my home office. Whilst being of a simple design it is a clean design and doesn't look out of place in an office environment. The quality of light and brightness is perfect for my needs and doesn't seem to cause any odd colour issues when using webcams on conference calls. Being LED it uses a lot less electricity than my old halogen one and runs at a much lower temperature. The halogen was always running hot after a few minutes, this LED one will warm up the longer you use it but only a fraction of the halogen or a traditional bulb. The lamp is turned on and off easily via an inline switch, this switch is in my opinion located a little too close to the base and would benefit from being a little further away. The neck allows a modicum of adjustment to allow you to direct it where you want, I would have preferred a little more adjust-ability that it has but that is possibly more to do with where I have the lamp located. If you are after a simple, low energy desk lamp I would recommend this one as I believe it will fulfill most peoples needs.
