Update: spoke with the company, they no longer offer the briquette temperature guides on ANY of their lids. They say the lids are made to be reversed and used as a cook surface, and the letters made it so that food stuck more, and smooth was better. I 100% would rather have had the guide, that was the ‘cool trick’ this could do and I will have another flat pan anyways.I specifically bought the 8qt over the 4qt as I believed it was the only model with the temp guides on the under side of the lid. They are not even on the 8qt and this was a BIG part of my purchasing decision to go with Barebones. Ugh

I have the 8qt version which includes the briquette temp guide and have really enjoyed it. I ordered this one because it was clear from elsewhere that the newer version lacked the briquette guide and this was the only place still using the old stock photos, so I was hopeful it was an end stock of the previous model. No luck, the stock photos haven’t been updated, I’m returning because even with free shipping I can get this elsewhere for less.

Well designed and executed. Overall finish is flawless. Lid and bottom fit is fine. Capacity is exactly right for me. Wire handle is very sturdy with great shape and wire gauge.My original order somehow got sidelined about 10 days. Upon notification to the seller I got a nice note of acknowledgement, and a replacement in two days.I have been using their 10-skillet with lid about three times a week on stovetop and oven for about a month. It has performed handsomely, and cleans much easier than other cast iron I have used over the years.

Love this dutch oven. Excited to use and it did not disappoint. Made awesome campfire nachos! Quality is really good!

Loved making a pizza in it with ability to put coals on top lid.

This dutch oven sits at the top end of the price range for cast iron dutch ovens. The lid has the ability to turn and create a vent or not and create a seal to the pot (great in theory but requires attention and fiddling with to work) The lid also has the number of charcoal briquettes you need for the cooking temperature you desire casted into the top of the lid so you always have a reference. I ordered 2 ovens, a 10 and 12 inch, both were made in china and both were very rough inside and had a bump and pit in each one so I used a 80 grit sandpaper to smooth it out. The handle on both ovens is too loose for my liking, it works but one side always falls through one side of the hole. For a $80 oven this should NEVER HAPPEN. I then seasoned it as per barebones instructions and cooked in the 12 inch. It cooked okay BUT the lid took some playing with to seal to the pot (due to the design for venting) my other ovens seal without trying. At its current price its WAY over priced. I did like the leg design and worked well for sitting on a grill but I would not buy again - 2 stars.

This is a great cast iron pot. It has legs and works well for cooking on a camp fire. It is a good size not to large or heavy but large enough to cook for the whole family.

Got this at a great price, so I am happy.
