effective
This does work well, as promised. It's a very simple device. For the materials it provides it is expensive. But, it has value in protecting string instruments, so probably worth the cost. I don't like using the main alternative that string players use - tubes that go inside of the instruments, because I'm worried about water potentially coming directly in contact with the wood (unless the used is very careful.) For that reason, these are a better approach. I've been advised, by violin makers, that one should use humidifying devices consistently, or not at all. It is often the change in humidity that damages instruments, so inconsistent use of these and other devices can do more harm than good.

Great humidifier recommended by many makers
I have been a cello player for over 15 years and this humidifier is by far the best I have tried! It was suggested to me by a maker at the North Bennett School in Boston, MA. He said this is the humidifier that many musicians turn to. I have tried many different ways to help humidify my cello in the past, but every time it did not work and I struggled to keep my cello from getting minor cracks. This humidifier is easy to use, a great value for the price, and it is easy to place wherever you need it in your case. I have been using this for the last 8 years, and I have not had to replace it at all.

Humidifiying an AZ Cello
We live in southern Arizona and most of the year we have virtually no humidity. This is rather problematic for my daughters cello. She has been using this Stretto humidifier for her cello and it has help keep the humidity up in her instrument. The instructions reccomend that you don't let the Stretto humidifier to dry out. A couple of times my daughter has let it dry out and with no adverse affects to the humidifier. It recharged just fine and is still working.

Works Well
The device functions well enough and I could certainly see an improvement in the sound of my cello during the past winter months. The velcro that holds the device to the inside of the case isnt the most reassuring, but that seems to be the norm for cello case velcro on case accessories. So far it is holding the plastic cage for the moisture crystals well enough that I'm not too worried about it getting loose or bouncing around. Treat it with care when opening the cage however if you want that grip to last!

It just won't stay
We finally ductaped it on to the inside of her cello case because it just wouldn't stay. Great idea, poorly executed.

A great little humidifier for cello cases
I like everything about it, including the fact that the replaceable bags last a good bit longer than the instructions say they will. Keeps my cello case at 50%+ for a long time.

Works really well within a hard case, arrived on time. The one thing I would say is: make sure you know where you want it BEFORE attaching the strip because it's really hard to move. And the snap can be hard to affix. But overall it does it's job and stays well affixed when I get my next hard case I will buy again. It was recommended to me by a cellist that had been playing for 42 years. Going to buy again.

Very efficient
I own a bam classic 1001SW case for my cello and this humidifier does the job just right. If fits perfectly right behind one of the bows, the humidifier is small enough to fit in that small space, but big enough to humidify the whole of the case. The provided belcro works fine and I have to admit the bags that actually hold the water are impressive.
