The Body Shop Shea Body Butter – Hydrating & Moisturizing Skincare for Very Dry Skin – Vegan – 6.4 oz

I love this body butter. Very nourishing for my 70 year old dry skin, especially on my legs. The mango scent is refreshing & not too strong. I have purchased this multiple times.

As a long-time user of The Body Shop's hemp moisturizing body butter I was unhappy when The Body Shop closed stores and online orders in the USA about a year ago. So I was glad to see a retailer from India begin providing stock to the USA again. Yes, it's expensive. Yes, it's the real product that I've been getting previously in the USA. Yes, since I find that a 6.75 ounce tub lasts me a long time, I think it's worth it...

As you can see on the left (which is the old product) I clearly LOVED their body butter and used every bit of it. I noticed they changed the packaging, which is fine, I actually like the new style better, it looks a lot nicer. However I immediately noticed that the smell was odd, I thought it was just because I got a different scent, but you can barely smell the strawberry, it mostly smells like unscented candle wax. I thought maybe when I put it on it would be different, but nope it's very strong and my husband even noticed and said "What is that smell? It smells like really old, expired lotion." Also when applying it, I had to really dig at it to even get some out and even when warming it up by rubbing my hands together, it still is very hard to apply. The consistency is literally like if you mixed lotion with wax. It even left my body really sticky, and I put it on before bed, it is still sticky to where my clothes are clinging to my skin half way through the next day, and I still smell like unscented candle wax. You can see in the second picture the comparison in the texture of the old formula on the left and the new one on the right.I will obviously be returning this, especially because I don't like how hard I had to rub it in and it was tugging and pulling on my skin which obviously isn't good for preventing future wrinkles. I'm really really bummed about this, because I have never loved a body butter so much I that I actually used the ENTIRE tub, so now I have to go on the hunt to find a new unicorn.

First and foremost, this cream smells AMAZING. It's sweet and also tarty strawberry scent is just perfect.That said, the amount you get is just ridiculous for the price. Just save yourself the irritation and buy the large jar, this tiny little jar will last you MAYBE two applications and you will be spending more in the long run buying it multiple times. My jar arrived half empty already so I was absolutely livid over paying $9 for less than 2 oz. of product. I did return it because I was so, SO ticked off.It DOES smell like no other strawberry lotion I have smelled before and I LOVE it. I just should have bought the large jar to begin with.
