One of the coolest Monster movies!!!
This is one of the coolest monster movies in years. This movie is directed by the visionary director, Guillermo Del torro (HellBoy, Blade 2). The movie has tons of special effects, visual effects and monster sets that will take your breath away and is a lot bigger than Transformers.Every giant robot has been designed uniquely suiting to the different countries. Excellent detailing has been taken care for the animated Robots and the Kaiju monsters. Charlie Hunnam, Idris elba give some sparkling performances in the film and some comic relief from actors Charlie day, Burn Gorman and Ron Perlman. As for the DVD package it has two DVDs inside; One has the movie itself which is a DVD-9 disc and the other disc which is a DVD-5 contains a host of special features including the making of the film and lots more. The movie disc packs an excellent Audio/Video and has a great quality ideal for home theatre applications. Thanks to Amazon for the great packing and extremely fast delivery as always!!Good work Amazon!!!

Great movie to exploit your HDTV and HT system
When I first saw this movie I knew I was going to buy it. I waited because most of our Indian releases cut corners for some unknown reason they usually release an incomplete product. I always check out the prospective bluray I plan on buying on Amazon US and Bluray.com etc to make sure what the actual package contains. So the US release contains 3 BDs and 1 DVD. In this case i was surprised to see that they apparently did not cut corners and contained 3 BDs so i decided to buy it.First the movie is great. Cheesy dialog and all but the movie is crafted beautifully. The HD presentation and sound are next to flawless. The 3D has some ghosting in the periphery but not bad. Great extra featrures including director commentarya dn also i think Hindi and ?Telugu dub alsoNow the reasons I removed 1 star.First of all the BD cover art you get is totally different from the one shown here.During delivery the cover got dinged a bit so the cover doesn't close properly. The first steelbook I decide to buy and this happens!

Step-motherly Treatment to Indian Market. No DTS-HD MA 7.1
Note: My Review was meant to blame Indian Edition Blu-ray not the Movie. I liked the movie because of the OST it carries throughout the movie. I don't care about Bad reviews. So My Star Rating 2 is for Indian Edition Blu-Ray.Purchased with Awesome Price and I couldn't sleep until it arrived. But when it arrived I couldn't sleep until I raise and Return the product back to Amazon. Fortunately I didn't touch the seal and Amazon is sweet enough to refund me as soon as possible. This movie originally have DTS-HD MA 7.1 monstrous track in International Version as well as mentioned in Blu-Ray.com.I don't understand Why Sony DADC couldn't release the same international audio versions in Indian Market too. Even people who own 5.1 at present may upgrade to 7.1 gradually then imagine the feeling of owning only 5.1 versions Blu-ray when actually that movie is 7.1 OST. That's my Feeling right now. Having 7.2 (2 SubWoofers) channel at home and getting only 5.1 blu-ray discs is never going to happen in my life. Luckily I have friends and Relatives in USA and I could able to get Original intact Audio Region free discs at same price or even low prices sometimes with more Bonus material where Indian market could only dream off. I could feel the difference between 5.1 and 7.1 audio track in the same movie in my HTS.Sony DADC please listen to consumers especially people who are having 7.1 channels.

Big Budget B Movie
If you're expecting Oscar winning acting or a plot to make you consider the meaning of life then stop reading and go and buy something else.I think the acting and plot are perfect for what this film is intended to be, which is a big budget update of those old black and white Monster movies. Its MEANT to be cheesy, simple and predictable. They had cheesy characters, dialogue and plot and so does this.If you can accept all that and just sit back, relax and watch, this is a very enjoyable and visually amazing film, particularly in 3d.I dont often rewind a scene while watching a film but after being blown away by the main battle roughly halfway through the film i had to. In 3d, the mixture of the massive Jaegers and Kaijus moving and fighting through the colours of the neon lit city with sparks flying, blu acid squirting and bits of city, Jaeger and Kaiju flying round was problably one of the most visually amazing things I've ever seen.I can understand some people not getting this, though 1/5 scores are just hysterical over-reactions, but if you enjoyed films such as the Transformers films without moaning that it was just Robots hitting each other then you're going to enjoy this!Cheers

Not a good film at all - bear with me.
I love my films but of late had trouble settling in to watch them. This week got round to watching Wolverine again (pretty good but not in the same league as the X Men core films) and Pacific Rim. I missed this at the cinema but it got good reviews so I added it to my list.Where to start? I will begin with the positive - it has excellent special effects. Like Transformers only grittier and less polished (as a combat machine would be if it had been through this). Now the negatives - I know giant robots and lizards are big in Japan (personally i love transformers and even the last Godzilla film wasnt bad) but this had no plot to speak of. I once said Pirates of the Caribbean At Worlds End had a plot written on a postage stamp but this one could fit on half that! Its over two hours of giant robots fighting lizards from another dimension. Thats it! Theres the usual end of the world, fighting for survival stuff with a thin back story about previous loss but none of it is explored properly. I didnt really feel like I cared about any of the characters and you could see the story development coming a mile off. What made me sit there wishing for the end was the constant reminding of what was happening as well (as if the audience had an IQ lower than a paving slab!) ie "hes out of oxygen", "They have to blow up <spoiler>". At one point i thought no one in the future could do first aid either. My other half was enjoying it which was really weird because Im generally the one who likes action movies and transformers. Im usually very respectful of other culture (ie I like the last samurai, cine Asia subtitled films, even the samurai references in Wolverine) so I apologise if ive missed something here in the Japanese film legacy, but its the first film ive seen in years that i wanted to finish. It would have been fast forwarded if my other half wasnt in the room. The dialogue seemed particularly poor and was like something written by a primary school child trying to do a screen play similar to a film they like (speaking from my childhood of trying to write Star Wars type stories).Im genuinely sorry if anyone disagrees but this is my personal opinion of the film. Ive watched classic Sci Fi like Aliens, Predator, Blade Runner, Terminator 2, Avatar and more recently ive been enjoying the Marvel offerings (tho not perfect they are great fun!). I simply can not put this in the same league. To me this is a rental only film that you may want to watch a second time if you are a fan of the genre. I bought the 3d version but only watched the 2d because my other half cant watch 3d. Sadly I think I may never see the 3d version now, even out of curiosity because its two hours I can use watching something else. Never mind, I hope that Man of Steel is better.
