Rhino ROV Everyday 8" Motorized Slider for iPhones and Android Phones

I've used it a total of 3 times in the time I have had it and the motor is now so noisy it cannot be used for sound recordings, which is why I bought it; as a slow b-cam slider for interviews. It also jiggles and sputters at both ends of the slower dampened loop, meaning slow moves where it gradually stops and loops back back are no longer possible.Started off great, and I truly, barely used it. My guess; cheap underpowered motor. I tried to take it apart and check on the motor, but it seems like there is some kind of Hellraiser trick to opening it.I only paid like $74, and that's why it feels like it was on clearance for not lasting long, but I see it is back up in price. I cannot imagine paying $280, it's not even worth $50. Apr-Oct of owning and barely 1 solid day of use and now a total POS. The worse part, it is a slider that can only slide through the motor and app.Update: It wa under warranty and the experience getting it services by ROV was pretty easy. The fixed it, but it's still way too noisy for such a small payload. So I'm adding a star.

Amazing build quality and you won’t find any “slider” gear at $70. Got a gimbal plate for my GoPro h9 and use my phone to operate the controls. Also I film in 4K on my phone with the tip that another reviewer left before! Use another phone or an iPad to control it as if it were another camera that is installed on the slider. People were giving this good reviews when they were selling for 300+ or whatever it was. So at $70 I can’t complain I’ve spent more on a phone case.

I film product reviews on YouTube and bought this since I primarily film using my iPhone. It looked like it would work great but I was extremely disappointed.The biggest issue I have is that the Rhino ROV forces you to use their mobile app. The slider will ONLY work with their mobile app and you are forced into using the camera features of their mobile app. The app forces your footage into 1080P! It will not allow you to shoot 4k. The app forces you to use only one camera lens, the default one. No telephoto and no wide angle lens possible!On top of all this the app is buggy. I had to restart the app a few times since the record button stopped working entirely. I also find it really frustrating that you cannot reset auto focus or auto exposure after having manually changed them once.Otherwise the hardware is decent. The build is solid with a very hefty battery. Unfortunately the slider isn't completely smooth so if you are filming something very close to the camera lens it will looks jittery.I will be returning this in favor of a real slider that has a remote so that I can film using the native iPhone app.

I bought this slider a couple years ago when it was over $300. I paid full price, and was promised a product that would support both iphone and android. After about a year, they stopped updating the Android app. Leaving it full of bugs and glitches and half the functionality of the iphone counterpart.Now, they slash the price by over 70%. This company lied to us, and stole our money. They sold an over hyped and overpriced product, failed to deliver on promises, and stole our money in the process. Beware of these people and their products.

Can’t beat the price for this item. Mine works perfectly for what I need it to do.
