Now, don't misunderstand me. The wool yarn is great, soft (if a bit fragile) and of wonderful quality. I just seem to have read the product description wrong. I was looking for thicker spun wool. What I wanted to do was make an arm blanket. This isn't going to happen with this. However, the product itself was a great quality and has inspired me to simply buy a giant crochet hook and knitting needles and do it the old fashioned way. Maybe include thread diameter?

Didn't get what I thought I had purchased! Not sure how I will use this expensive yarn! Apparently it's too late to return!

I am ecstatic about this yarn and will get more. Such lovely stuff to work! And gorgeous. My friend has Stage 3 Ovarian and is facing 4 months of chemo. Wanted to knit a long cowl that will double as a head covering as well as a scarf (plus a cowl will mean it won’t fall on the floor when she is too weak to pick it up.). I wanted very soft, very light, but natural fibers. This is perfect with its combination of merino and silk. Of course it is roving; however, it’s coherent enough. One just needs to be careful and knit slowly with a firm stitch (don’t worry, the loft is great and it relaxes when you’re a few rows on.) The knitting experience is excellent because the yarn is so great in your hands, and it is so very, very pretty.

This wool in the kit is IMPOSSIBLE to use. It apparently comes from a farm cooperative out west and is so fragile that you can't even make a ball of it with out it coming apart even few feet.None of this was make clear on their description of the product

Really hard to knit with but worth the effort

What I love about this fine Merino/silk blend is it’s wonderful soft texture. Nothing itchy about it and knits up fast. It can pull apart at times but the instructions to reconnect are easy and work. Just finished one cowl and am vert pleased with the results. I know I will be making more as Christmas gifts. Thank you!

The yarn is very similar to cotton candy. It pulls apart so easily. I don’t think it will knit a very good cowl.Also, I bought the yarn because of the vivid color in the photo. However, it Is much duller than in the photo.

Extremely soft yarn, fun to work with too! This product is perfect for a soft cowl, scarf, baby blanket, or blanket. I love this stuff, and it doesn't have a bit of wool feel to it (very very soft). Shipping was very quick too'
