You get a lot of different colors for the price. I absolutely needed white to tie clouser minnows, and the pink and yellow are going to make all sorts of variations possible. However, people are right about it being delicate. The thread broke on my first clouser as I was whip finishing. Lucky, I had already put 3 whips on it individually, so it was no problem. I highly advise that you loosen your bobbin more than you otherwise would. This is a great value, but it's cheap thread. That's why I bought it though, I'm not complaining. It is what it is, and it's a great deal.

The thread definitely will work and I've tied plenty of flies with these. It's also one of the few combos with multiple colors that you can easily find. It's also relatively strong for it's diameter which is good when you're starting out and learning how much pressure to use when tying.That being said, this type of thread is not what you really want to tie with. It is essentially a braided thread which means when you lay it on the hook, it keeps it's cylindrical "ropey" shape. In contrast, a lot of typical fly tying thread can be laid flat on your hook as your tie. This results in a less ropey texture and let's you create more even tapers and build less bulk on you fly. Because of the ropey nature of this thread you will notice uneveness and weird bumps of thread on your flies, and it can also cut delicate feathers and other material if wrapped too tightly.If you're really sold on the color variety, you can actually just get a quality white tying thread and use permanent marker to color it your desired color as needed.

It It's hard to argue with the price. The colors are true and the bobbins have an excellent integrated thread holder. The thread it self is decent, albeit far from spectacular. It does have a tendency to snap off more then other 150d threads I have, but for the price I wasn't expecting it to compare to something like UTC Ultra Thread. For what I'm trying with it (mostly small bucktails and streamers), it does the job.

Should work just fine a variety of medium sized flies being tied.

Chinese, ties okay but seems to have variations in size. I'll buy Unithread next time

Thought this was European made thread, has chinese markings on the lable. Thread works ok.
