Q: Are these boots hot? Can you wear them in moderate temperatures?

I would say "yes" - though I've worn them in the snow with temperatures in the teens and 20s and they've kept my feet warm, I've also worn them for several hours outside with temperatures in the upper 40s or inside, and I've not found them uncomfortably hot when wearing light-moderate weight socks.

Q: Has anyone found snow gaiters that attach to these since there are no laces?

I have the shoes mentioned and just recently went for a walk with gaiters. The gaiters I used had a hook for the laces, a strap that went across the bottom arch of the shoe and a cinch strap around the calf. Obviously I couldn't use the lace hook, but they stayed on just fine without it I was walking in snow that was 8-12 inches deep and snow did not make its way under the gaiters.

Q: Can you pull the boot on without unzipping it?

I surely can not pull the boot on unless it is unzipped.

Q: Is the bottom of the shoe cushioned much? I hate boots feeling like logs.

I have a similar pair. Merrell makes a good fitting comfortable boot. I think you will like them. They won't feel like "logs"
