I'm new to serious exploration of Japanese teas, and this is the first Tenkaichi I've tried. Clearly very high quality: vibrant color and a dramatic bloom in the strainer when hot water is poured over. The flavor is robust for a green tea, though subtle and complex, and surprised me—despite having been prepared by reading—with the strength of the umami component. It's almost as meaty as a salt-free bouillon, with the grassy notes following rather than leading. I don't know whether it will be my all-purpose favorite, but it will clearly have its place in the palette of Sencha teas for me. Packaging care, shipping speed, and informative labeling all give confidence in Tealyra as a merchant. Will try other teas from them.

I am very pleased with the flavor,aroma, and strength of this green tea. My brother, who also tasted the first batch, liked it as well. I would recommend.

Love the flavor of this Tea! Grassy flavor I like and a good value.

This is the fourth variety I have ordered from Amazon after I ran out of what I had gotten in Japan. This tea has a nice color and has a good flavor. This one I will mark to order again.The first three where not good at all and I pitched them out. This is a definite keeper.

What an intense flavor. Nice taste. But... although it says it is organic & their web site states it is certified, there is no authentic certification label, either from USA or Japan, on the package. If you truly want organic that is actually certified, try suppliers like Ryu Mei or Yuuki-Cha for example and not Tealux (or Tealyra) Look for the USDA, JAS or Jona logo ON the package to be sure you are actually getting what you paid for!

Probably my favourite tea. Great, clean, aromatic, thick, with a sweet green tea taste and umami.

It has some caffeine and the flavor is sweet.

Weak. Most green teas you can get 2 or 3 steeps. This was the worst tea I have experimented with so far 1 weak cup of tea - forget additional steep! I was going to to throw it out but decided to blend it into green smoothies for fiber.
