Not impressed yet
We have allergies in my family and some other health issues so I try to use almond flour as much as I can. But I really wanted to get some new ideas so this book was on my birthday list. Right now I feel disappointed. I was going through my book and I found recipes for mixing coffee with almond milk or making hot cocoa with almond milk. And a different recipe if you want to use mint and marshmallow.Or soup recipes. These use almond milk instead of regular milk or other dairy options. I can already cook so it does not help me much. But this is my first impression only. As soon as I become happier with this book, I will update my review.

Awesome!
I love this cookbook! Brooke has covered everything anyone could ever think of when it comes to making incredibly delicious and nutritious dishes using almonds, almond milk and almond flour. Truly a fun cookbook! I love the layout and her comments. It's easy to read and understand. It's obvious she put a lot of time and love into this.

Almond flour power!
I love these recipes, I'm using almond flour more and more. The almond flour polenta is delicious! The diet icons are fantastic. Great job.

Tasty avenue to better health!
I'm really excited by all these healthy, nutty recipes, mostly gluten-free, mostly vegetarian, and many are vegan and/or paleo.Waffles, banana bread, zucchini muffins, pizza crust, meatless balls, meatless loaf, alfredo sauce, crackers, artichoke dip, gravy, (almond) polenta, soups, veggie burgers, cookies, pie crust, lemon bars, etc. There's also some for carnivores.I invent my own recipes and generally ignore recipe books, but these creations open a whole new range of possibilities! What do you take to a vegan, gluten-free potluck? (I usually take hummus with veggie sticks.)Half our relatives are now vegetarian, quasi-vegan, gluten sensitive, or leaky-gut-autoimmune, so holiday meals are a real challenge--especially when they still want waffles, lemon bars, banana bread, & burgers. Here's a book full of solutions! From a health perspective, I choose grass-fed organic butter over Earth Balance (their website doesn't list ingredients!), organic honey over agave syrup (unless diabetic, because agave is mostly free fructose--low glycemic index but unhealthy), and a variety of "milks" (rice, soy, flax, cashew(!), etc) rather than always using almond milk every day (which, as with any food, could eventually trigger an allergy or sensitivity). But these recipes are easily adaptable to such changes, and their value is in demonstrating how almonds (or other nuts too!) can tastefully replace wheat, other grains, and animal proteins.Wheat intolerance (I suspect glyphosate residues) and autoimmune disorders (I suspect dysbiosis, GMO BT corn, & small intestine permeability) are skyrocketing, so many people are fleeing to wheat-free paleo diets, but that leaves vegetarians & vegans stranded, and this book (along with The Paleo Vegan) shows them the way to eat well and even enjoy cookies, pie crusts, pizza crusts, nutloafs, etc.I can hardly wait to GET COOKIN'! (and will update this review after following more of the recipes)(Full disclosure: I own a 26 acre almond orchard, but the profit's so small as to be a joke.)
