I'm so used to stuff ordered on Amazon to be crappy, or for something to be weird or shoddy about it.OMG!!! NOT THE CASE HERE!I broke my calcaneus in August. I used a pile of pillows to keep my leg elevated. Unfortunately almost back on my feet, I fell over my scooter and broke my knee. I didn't have it in me to deal with the pillow pile for yet another 6-8 weeks! Also, I noticed that I was actually stressing in my sleep, worried about the pillows slipping and for my ideal-for-healing position to be compromised. I just couldn't envision myself dealing with this again.I woke up at 6 yesterday morning, did some research, put in the order for this pillow, and had it I last night by 9:45 p.m. Just in time for bedtime. Thank God! The support is so supreme, I can even turn my body a little bit to right and left to keep from getting a backache. This pillow is so good, I want everyone to have a chance to get the comfort I'm getting. And if my testimony helps a little bit, I've paid this goodness forward.I have literally only pros to report.+The covering is luxuriously plush. Reminiscent of the material used for the pillow top of a mattress. But even nicer.+The zipper is placed such that it's easy to get off for washing.+Perfect support: soft but, you know, supportive. (No weird pressure spots.)+Perfect angle.+Leg is raised by 6.5 inches (I'm 5'2", so this may not be enough elevation for big bodies.)+Customizable: The channel is wide. It can accommodate a soft down pillow plus a rolled-up towel. I set it up that way last night so I could be sure my leg won't move because I cannot abide the leg cage, what is commonly known as the knee immobilizer. In the daytime today, I'm making things less tight-fitting so I can feel maximum comfort and cool. You'll know what's right for you. And do yourself a favor, don't forget to ice every 2 hours at least the first day and after that alternate warm and cold. You'll have less pain and heal faster and better. All the best to you! 💜💜

I had an ankle tendon repair and I’m so happy I took the risk on buying my “fancy post-op leggie elevator pillow” 🦵🏽🤕 👆🏽😊 My fancy pillow is happily providing my leg with comfortable support and elevation, allowing me to relax deeply and rest easier—which can only help me heal better!I have a posterior “back-slab” splint I’m wearing the first two weeks post-op to protect my surgical site and allow for swelling. I’ve had a real hard time trying to keep my leg securely elevated above the level of my heart. My new fancy post-op pillow is a touch pricey, but well worth the money in not having to depend on pillows that consistently shift and sag on me all the time.I’m 5’6 and find the length works well to support my hip and butt in gentle elevation—thus taking pressure off my lower back—before leveling off to support my lower leg, which also keeps my knee in a comfortably flexed position. I’m using a small pillow roll for cervical support, and this keeps my leg elevated above heart level, both with the head of my bed flat or in a reclined position.I also really like the channeled groove. It provides a firm yet gently supportive cradle to rest my lower leg. My splint is rather unwieldy and heavy, and up until I got my fancy leggie pillow, I hadn’t realized how tensed I subconsiously kept my upper leg and hip muscles in fear of having my leg roll off the pillow—> leading to me falling off the bed—>pain and injury 😱...A bit of catastrophic thinking I know, but the fear was real!I also like the size because it doesn’t take up a lot of room in the bed. And as a bonus, the channeled groove allows me to cover my leg with my bed sheet and comforter without it feeling heavy: weight is pressure, and pressure = pain! The cover itself is soft, non-itchy, and pleasing to the eye.In summary, I’ve been able to nap/sleep/relax in bed with my new fancy post-op leggie pillow providing me with firm, yet gentle support and secure elevation above the level of my heart. I wholeheartedly recommend this MonMed pillow to anyone recovering from ankle surgery!

At first I thought it was too big, but after I used it my first night I was grateful I had gotten this size (I am 5’9”). It is versatile, you can use it either direction. It is soft, yet firm enough to hold your leg in place. It’s deep & wide enough to hold a small cast and big boot in place. I had heel and Achilles’ tendon surgery. This is a long recovery, I have to keep my leg elevated and my only regret is that I tried using pillows at first which kept me up at night... I waited 11 days after surgery before finally purchasing this... I am grateful it arrived the very next day! I finally got a good nights sleep after it arrived. I highly recommend this for recovery during foot surgery. The only thing I would mention is the material snags easily on Velcro strips from a leg boot, but just drape a towel over it and that solves the problem.

This was a great help for me when I broke my leg and had to keep it elevated for an extended period of time. Using pillows made the back of my knee really sore because it was so stretched out. This elevated my leg as well as tool the pressure off my knee. I lowered the rating by one star because the cover got very pilled and a lot of snags due to the Velcro on the boot I had to wear. I wish there was a different cover or maybe an option of the type depending on the needs. I also thought a carrying handle would be awesome and would have made things a bit easier. I had help to carry it from location to location but a handle would have been great.

Nothing negative about this device for us. The review for "warmth"? Not warming device, so I didn't respond to that. I would ignore if any subtraction of my review is made for warmth. A+ device. Considering getting another one. The elevation is perfect. The design, construction could not be better. The cover is removable for washing. I didn't find the color an issue, but some people might like other colors. I do not think there are any other colors to purchase and it is not a universal size. The device is built for a tall person, which matches many of the reviews. It is a large device. My husband is 6'3" so it was great for him!
