Basic diabetes supply kit, but deluxe????
First, I'm pretty sure I ordered a blue one, but got a black one. That will make it hard to find in a dark purse by sight alone; by "feel" it should be fine. The cost of returns is too high to make it worth sending back, and if it didn't go back by regular mail (which is how it arrived), getting to a UPS/FED-EX store is difficult with a disability. I would have much preferred the blue.Second- I'm not sure how 2 weeks worth of stuff would fit in here if someone actually takes insulin 4-5 times a day. (Example- I use Lantus at night, with vials/syringes..and Humalog FlexPens- up to 100 u/day with meals and at bedtime depending on blood sugar and carb intake... For 2 weeks, one vial of Lantus is enough- no spare; I would need one pen for every 3-4 days, so for 14 days, 5 pens ( 6 pens to be safe)... I'm not sure how padded the insulin would be in the event of accidental drops... and it's hard to detect a faulty pen until ones blood sugar acts up for no reason, and closer inspection is done). No room for any back up insulin, if supplies are also in this case.If only for meters, strips, extra batteries, alcohol preps (for those who use them), glucose tablets, lancets, and the lancing device, then yes- it's more than adequate for 2 weeks. My pocket sharps container DOES fit, and that is important.Fortunately (depending on how one looks at it- LOL ), I can't be away from home that long, and am only looking for something to get me to a full day-long event out of town (12-15 hours). I'm a disabled nurse, and like to have supplies and whatever I might need ready for most contingencies. I'll make it with this, but if I were actually going to be gone for any extended period of time, I'd invest in one of these (for relatively immediate use stuff) AND a hard case (or eBag insulated bag- preferable) that could hold the rest of my supplies, to refill this one.It does seem well made, and the zippers are sturdy- not the little cheap ones on some products. The ice pack is one that freezes up lumpy and in awkward shapes, so I won't be using that. I've got Techni-Ice that can be cut to fit, and will freeze more uniformly, so that will be my coolant source. This case won't be out in the sun, so the temperature isn't something I'm that worried about. (and good thing it's going to be indoors as the black would retain more heat than a blue one, if exposed to the sunshine...). :)

WARNING: Blue Bag does NOT have Blue Interior (despite photos).
Updated (2 Aug 2017): How about a recap? We've owned the black version of this bag for over a year. We love the bag, but hate the color - our son's glucometer and lancing device are both black - they get "lost" on the black interior (especially when we have to do late night finger sticks!). We've long wanted to order the blue version. When we finally did - it arrived in black. We returned it, notified the seller before reordering, and when it arrived it, again, was black! Finally we ordered from another retailer and finally got our blue bag! But, guess what? The interior of the blue bag is BLACK!! All of the photos of this bag on both Amazon and the manufacturer's own website show the blue bag has a matching blue interior! I contacted the manufacturer and they confirmed that the blue bag is NOT AVAILABLE WITH A BLUE INTERIOR (and, apparently, never has been - except for when the product photos were made). Manufacturer recommended trying the "Classic" (smaller) version as it has the requested blue interior. We have ordered it and hopefully that'll be an acceptable solution for us!Original Review: Nice bag - keeps everything we need organized. However, we're not convinced that it's actually available in blue. We ordered it blue but it arrived in black. We returned it and informed the seller of the mix up. We then reordered it (again in Blue) only to have it (again) arrive in Black.

Perfect for New T2 Diabetic
When I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes I never thought I would progress to the point where I would need one of these so fast but it happened. Took about a month before I went from oral meds and testing once a day to testing multiple times and carrying an insulin pen. So I ordered this and it holds everything I need: my meter, lancing device, lancets, insulin pen, extra needles for pen, swabs, test strip vial, glucose pills, cake icing and something that should be included, a sharps container (bought 4 clear cigar tubes for $9, so I have 3 backups). Comes with a gel pack that has a neat little pocket to slip it into and something not pictured is a slot for your emergency care card. Gel pack looks like it would keep things cool for a few hours or so but I don't need it yet. Has enough space for me to carry at least two weeks worth of supplies but depending on your situation it may not be the same for you. Don't carry a log book because my meter is Bluetooth and syncs to my iPad and I have apps for food tracking, ect... but it has enough space for a small logbook and a spot for pen on outside of case. Looks to be well made so I have hopes of keeping for a few years or so.

All My Diabetic Needs in One Place!
In my search to keep all my diabetic supplies in one place, I bought one of these fine devices. Finally, no searching for my little meter kit or my pens and needles, strips, swabs, and my prescription numbers for all these various supplies. This handy dandy device even has a freezer ice pack if you're on the road frequently and need to keep your insulin cool. There's enough room for a USB charger if your meter uses one.The only shortcoming, as mentioned by others seem to be the elastic strip that holds my strips, meter, lancing device and Levemir Flexpen. The round Contour Next strip container seems to have weakened the elastic a bit over the last 3 months, but doesn't seem problematic yet. I treat this package with a good deal of respect, so if there is any notable deterioration, I'll be back to let you know about it. Just don't overtax the elastic and you should be fine.

Poor stitching/zip
Havingbeen using this product for a while now (Less than a year)I am disappointed. As you would expect from a product of this nature it gets daily use, pens in and out and open and closed every day several times. The main problem area's are two fold :-1. The elasticated straps for holdong in Dextrose or various tubes have already snapped.2. The stitching around the main zip is fraying badly and at some point soon will fail all together.3. Zip is now busted too.It may be that my 10 year old son is a bit clumsey with it but on the whole I open and close it. With a product like this it needs to be more resillient, unfortunatly I will have to get a new one and will probabally go elsewhere.Update 11/03/2013Further to my previous problems the zip has now broken too, and in light of the supplier not taking notice of honest reviews like this i would not recommend them now. Guess i will have to fork out for another one in the hopes of better quality! DIA PAK DIABETIC DELUXE CASEDIA PAK DIABETIC DELUXE CASE
