Great carpentry square
Fantastic tool. It’s square, at least as much as you can expect for a plastic body carpentry square. Also has some heft to it, the blade is 1/8” thick and 1.5” wide. The angle graduations allow it to be used as a rough protractor for common construction angles and since its a square you can check level and plumb with just the one vial in the body. Graduations are etched black instead of printed on so they shouldn’t wear off.Comments on a couple of the top reviews:- There’s a review about weird dimples on the body. I ordered 2, neither have that.- There’s a comment regarding finding the center of a circle with a try square. This isn’t really a try square, it’s a try and mitre square combo. The 45 on the body is so you can mark a 45 or check a mitre cut. This one also has marks for 22.5 degrees, though that might be a little hard to use....- Of the 2 I received, one does have some sanding marks on the plastic body, the other does not. Both are reasonably flat. (It’s not machinist’s square.) I believe this just proves there is a QC process being performed and I’m glad to see they have an established tolerance for what they produce.

Nice square at a nice price
Nice square for the price and a good size and less awkward to carry in an apron instead of an triangular one. I have a lot of Irwin woodworking tools and I really like all of them for someone who is just a weekender their tools are good quality and nicely priced.

Does its job, with no frills and no gold plating.
This thing pretty much rules. The markings are engraved, so they don't rub off and you can set your dividers from them. The handle fits full square flush against the work, and the blade is a true 90°.My only objection is that the level bubble in the handle is much too large to be very sensitive. It runs about 50% past the guide lines on both sides. That's not a deal breaker, I use a real level when things must be level. All in all it's a great tool with an acceptable level of precision for fine woodworking. Definitely worth the short money, you can spend a lot more without getting much more.

It's SQUARE, Baby!!!
I like Irwin tools because for the serious "hobbyist" the price, and quality, are right..... and hey, it's a square (with a cute little level) and it does what it's supposed to do....

Economical quality
This is a great square for the price. It has a stainless steel blade that is easy to read. It even has angle increments on it. The short leg is made of high-quality heavy duty plastic. The level in the short leg is easy to see from different angles.

Decent quality
It is a decent quality tool for the price. It is also true (square) which at this price range is hit or miss.
