Lifesaver
Good quality especially for the cost, I had a flat tyre due to a faulty valve. luckily the car was on my drive as when I came to fit the spare I discovered that the garage who had fitted new tyres quite a long time ago had done the bolts up so ridiculously tight I though the 4 normal nuts had sheared off when I eventually loosened them using a long extendable wheel breaker bar! When it came to the locking nut it was so tight my locking key actually shattered into 2 pieces! 🤬 I ordered a set of these and kept the car jacked up to take the weight of the car off the tyre as I didn't want to ruin the tyre while waiting for delivery, amazon delivered the following day and I followed the instructions and removed the outer skin on the locking nut using a small dremmel style tool to gring through it very carefully so not to damage the bog 18" alloy wheel, removing this is very important as if I had not then I would have needed a 23mm socket which is not in the set and the outer piece even though it appears to be part of the bolt and does not spin freely it would have spun when trying to remove the extremely tight bolt, once I ground a groove all the way through the outer skin a hammered a small cold chisel into the new groove and it split the outer case of the bolt so it could be removed, this meant I only needed a 19mm socket now so I hammered the 19mm socket fro. The set (it did squash some of the edges in the teeth of the socket but there was still more than enough grip) making sure the socket was all the way on using a large lump hammer, keeping the socket straight so as not to pull it at an angle and using a variety of longer wrenches as it was so tight I though I was going to lift the car before it would release! I had already tried my electric impact driver and it would not touch it! But the socket held up to the impact driver which is good and it held upto the extreme load I placed on it to release the bolt (I'm 6ft 18st using a 24" wrench so when I say it was tight it was ridiculously tight) but the nut eventually came free and I was out of trouble so packed the wheel into the wife's car to take to the garage and get the valve changed. I could of gotten a new locking key but it was £50 for a new one and had to be ordered and its Bank Holiday weekend so dealer would not be open for a few days and then would have wait for delivery! Also no guarantee the new one would not shatter again? So would of been without a car all week for work as wife needs hers too, this set worked perfectly and if you follow the instructions you will get your bolts off, I'm not using locking nuts anymore as this has happened on a few cars I've owned over the years and I can't remember the last time Ive seen/heard of anyone having wheels stolen so locking nuts are more hassle than they are worth in my opinion. I've also ordered a new set of 20 wheel nuts as the old ones were so over-tightened the thread has probably stretched and will not clamp the wheel on as they are intended to.

Lovely bit of kit.
After a lot of banging and chiselling I completely failed to remove the locking wheel nut on the spare wheel of my Land Rover. I purchased this Blue spot kit after trawling through the reviews and it turned out to be a good choice. Tap the correct size remover onto the locking nut using careful straight gentle blows with a hammer then attach a bar and apply gentle but firm pressure anticlockwise winding the locknut out.Do not beat the hell out of it as you risk damage, just gentle and firm worked for me.

It did the job
It's not easy getting a knackered locking wheel nut off. I made a right mess trying to weld a nut on with my 55 year old arc welder. I decided it's worth a try with these despite somewhat mixed reviews. It wasn't easy getting the socket to bite. Welding the outer ring didn't work so I ended up cold chiselling the ring off. This allowed me to then choose a socket that bit the remaining nut stub enough to remove the wheel nut.Don't expect it to be easy but perseverance will result in success.

Don't do it to yourself
I'm an engineer and I followed the instructions carefully using a break-bar. The tool quickly jammed up and exploded leaving a large section jammed between the locking wheel nut and the wheel. You can see the remains of the tool in the photo. Two garages couldn't get the nut out and they ended up having to cut the wheel off. My car is an RS4 and a replacement wheel is going to cost £750. I am posting this as a warning to anyone considering buying. The tools are not sufficiently strong enough for the job. Oh, and by the way, I'm flippin' furious.
