Agreat Shark Xylophone for Kids: Glockenspiel Toy Best Holiday/Birthday Gift Idea - with(Four) Child-Safe Mallets 2 Wood 2 Plastic, 3 Music Card & Whistle Included

We bought this for our grand daughter. We looked in a lot of stores and could not find one. We really don’t like her parents - and the toy is just loud enough to keep them in constant supply of headaches. It is extremely well-built and the extra whistle it’s just perfect! What a great toy.

My husband and I are both professional musicians, and after reading a few reviews I was nervous this would be out of tune. However, ours was perfect and has such a lovely timbre, especially for a toy. We were interested in getting our almost 9-month old real instruments instead of toy versions so that he gets used to quality sounds, and buying this without trying it was a little bit of a risk. We’re happy!

I actually got this for my 1yo despite the age recommendation being for older kids. It’s actually a safe product and I’ve only given her the plastic bars and kept the wooden ones away for when she’s older. She’s musically inclined so though she’s not making Mozart-level compositions, just hitting it and trying to mimic tones gets her excited. It’s pretty sturdy compared to others I have seen and the keys are aligned. I have seen some that skip a tone/beat (sorry don’t know the right word) so it’s fine for kids but it’s annoying for adults. My husband even jumps in and creates renditions or nursery songs all the time. He even figured out baby shark and my daughter absolutely loves it!

Update: changing from 2 stars to 4. 5 stars for customer service though. Seller contacted me to see if they could resolve the problem. They ended up sending me another one, which was in tune (not perfectly, but good enough for a toy and unless you have a really really good ear, you probably can’t even tell) but the edges were still sharp.. hence 4 stars. I’ll find some sand paper to round out the edges and I’m sure it’ll be fine. My 13-month old likes to chew on the plastic mallet, and turns out my dogs do too.. one of my dogs destroyed a plastic mallet on the same day we got it. *smack forehead* Good thing this comes with a set of wooden mallets too and you can easily play with just 1 mallet anyway.Original review: This is a great deal and the sounds ring clear with both types of mallets, but I will return it. The last two bars are flat, and having it out of tune drives me crazy. I thought I saw someone else’s video review and the notes were in tune, so maybe I just got a bad one..? Also, the wooden stand part has sharp edges can easily scratch my 1-year old’s skin. Did not try using the whistle but it looks cute. Song cards are also a nice addition, even if printed on normal flimsy paper (instead of heavy cardstock or something). Really wanted this to work since I think a xylophone/glockenspiel is a great toy for kids, but this is the 2nd one I’ve purchased so far (different sellers) and both are out of tune. The search continues..

I love this xylophone. I bought it for my 15 month old daughter after seeing her enjoy playing with a fisher price xylophone at my sister’s house. I didn’t think the sound quality was good and it’s not very fun having the mallet attached to the xylophone.This xylophone has everything I was looking for. High quality for a very fair price. It plays very clear notes, has bright colors. Even smells like fresh cut wood as my husband pointed out, lol. I highly recommend this product!!!

This came with 2 seta of sticks t use, one wooden, one plastic. The tip of one of the wooden sticks came off right away. The plastic ones are great.The whistle that comes with it did not work and honestly, I dont understand who engineered it in the first place. Thats not how sound is made..... so dont hold out too much hope for that.I Like that is came with color coded music sheets to play a few songs, but one of them wasnt colored coded for THESE colors and it was so confusing. So I feel like we lost out there too.All that aside, its still a xylophone and my kids still play it a lot. I am just waiting for it to fall apart based on my experience with the rest of the package.

I originally bought this set for the new mallets (not sure if that is the technical term) as we had lost our original set.I was pleasantly surprised when this came. For the price, I thought it would be lowish quality but this is really nice. The xylophone is well made and makes a decent sound for a toddler toy and I like the 2 different types of mallets.I would honestly recommend this product because it is a great bang for your buck.

My daughter is 10 months and liked the xylophone at Gymboree. We only let her play with it though under supervision. The product says it’s 3 years and above. Indeed!! My husband tries his hands on it too everyday.we are loving it as a family.
