The Jasgood belt is good
The Jasgood web belt is good. I nearly gave it a really bad score. It's a good thing I had the extra buckle and a 6-inch strip of webbing that I had cut off so the belt would fit with very little overhang. When I got ready to go to bed I couldn't get the darn Jasgood unhooked. I mean I tried everything, including a letter opener to pry the buckle upward. I was getting ready to get the scissors to cut the belt in two. Fortunately, I noticed the free extra buckle I had. Aha, I wasn't going to let a plastic gadget defeat an engineer, even if I am 80-years old. Next, I dug into my trash basket and found the 6-inch piece I had cut off. Now I can put this thing together see how this gadget really works, as opposed to how I was trying to make it work.If you look at any side view of the buckle on Amazon, you'll see 2 holes for 2 pins to attach the teeth piece to the big buckle and also the standing end that stays attached to the belt. The forward holes are where the complete buckle mechanism bends to release the belt. Aha, aha, aha, ha, ha. I was grasping the buckle too far in the wrong way. You have to grasp the buckle down near the end where you think you shouldn't. OK, you've got the buckle. Put both thumbs underneath the buckle just forward of the pin and pull bend the mechanism toward you. Presto. the belt is loose and you can take your pants off to go to bed or whatever. The belt is pretty stiff now like it's full of starch. I am pretty sure that it will break in and be easier the use in the future.

Military Practical, Civilian Usefull
The reason I bought these (4 - 3 black and 1 brown) is that they closely resemble the belts we were issued in the Army back in the 1970s for our "fatigues", or work uniforms, the solid forest green pants and shirt which we wore every day. As I have aged, I found that my waist was growing, and an infinitely adjustable belt was the answer for me. Since the leather of my existing belts was pretty beat up, i decided to go for new ones and saw these web belts on Amazon. They work beautifully, and they are pretty easy to close (once you do it a couple of times, because the belt material is stiff at first), but once they are broken in, they work very nicely. On top of that, they look sharp, so I bought several, to use both on my nice slacks and on my jeans. The price is very reasonable, they feel very sturdy and solid, and if caught in the rain, they will dry quickly because they are webbed in construction. I'm very satisfied, and they will be usable for both dressy and casual activities.

Nice belt, easy to adjust to size.
This belt is made of good quality, sturdy 1.5" webbing. It has a retainer band made of heavy elastic and the webbing end is hot knife cut to taper one edge and end. (pic 1) The plastic buckle seems sturdy and at i/2" thick is not bulky. (pic 2) Trimming to size is easy. Push the buckle back (pic 3) to release the teeth that holds the webbing. The webbing will now slide freely; I used a single edge razor to cut and a butane lighter to hot melt the end to prevent fraying. (pic 4)Buckling the belt took a little getting used to. In order to slide the end through the buckle, the buckle must be moved to an angle so the locking teeth are out of the way. (pic 5) As I said, at first this was a bit awkward but I got used to it.The belt looks good and seems it will last. I paid 11.99 for this belt and I'm happy with the purchase.

Great belts, Easy to Use, Durable
The negative reviews are about 1. ease of use/can't figure out the buckle and 2. quality/durability of the plastic buckle. This belt is extremely easy to adjust and if you cannot figure out how to use the buckle, you should not be allowed to drive or operate any machinery. It's really pretty obvious, but if one can't figure it out, just look at the instructions. Really easy. On durability, I've been using the belts I ordered for about two months. I am sure there is some way to bust the buckle, but you'd have to work at it. It's very sturdy, locks tight, and doesn't come loose, period. The belt itself is terrific, exactly as shown and is also very sturdy. I have zero complaints on these belts and I now own three of them.

For The Money
I've spent much more for far less. Cool belt, and comes with an extra buckle (plastic buckles break, eventually. Fact of life). And I LOVE the elastic band that holds the excess down. Awesome touch. I will say that the buckle design is different, and a little tricky to use. I see some reviewers saying the buckle doesn't work at all, and I thought the same thing a time or two. It's possible to insert the belt into it wrong (so play with it and see if it can be flipped around differently, if it seems like it's not working) and sometimes fastening or unbuckling can be awkward, but otherwise it works and looks great. The seller also sent a follow-up email, making sure I got it, and asking if I was pleased. Assuming the buckles (hopefully) last a year or two, I call this a win.*UPDATE: It's now December 8th, and I just bought another one. The first one is holding up nicely; it's just that I wear it to work a lot, and get it dirty (which it resists a whole lot of things, by the way. It dodges dirt, grease, paint, drywall dust, you name it), so I want a fresh new one for casual wear. Very pleased. One suggestion/request I have, is that the seller could add some spare elastic keepers. I love that touch, but those will wear out long before the belt will. Just the nature of elastic materials. I'd pay a little extra for some extra bands, for sure. Great belt, great price. It can be a little tricky to figure out at first, but it does a great job of holding your pants up, and still looks and works great after hard use.

Great belt, sturdy so far!
This belt is great at doing what it is supossed to do with the crucial added benefit of not setting off metal detectors. This is my go-to work belt.I wear this belt daily only for work as I much prefer leather belts with nice buckles when going out.I am a size 30 waist so I had to cut like 6 inches or so but it is easy to cut with a sharp blade. After you make the cut I recommend melting the end (stove or lighter) so it doesn't look frayed. I did have some difficulty figuring it out in the beginning and I almost broke it but thankfully I got the hang of it.I fully recommend this belt and I plan to buy more.

Much larger than pictures suggest
Size issueI bought this belt because it can be locked in any position and because it had great reviews. I expected it to be like other nylon belts I have (e.g. craghoppers trousers). These are small, lightweight, and you barely know you're wearing it. But this belt is a very wide men's belt with a buckle width of 4.5cms! I tried it on but it dug in to me when sitting down and was not comfortable. This problem is a real shame because the belt was otherwise excellent. It locks in place so tighly that it will never slip undone like with other belts with an infinte range of adjustments. The belt can be resized and the buckle can even be replaced with a new one. There is even a free additional buckle which comes with it. I was very impressed with this. I seriously hope they consider making a smaller version.

Cuts down on Airport Hassle!
Used this whilst travelling the other day and didn't have to take it off to get through airport security. Anything that reduces the annoyance of airport procedures is a good thing in my book. Also wear it with jeans and in work. It's slightly military looking in a good way. Seems very strong - looks like it'll last forever. Fully adjustable too, so will fit anyone. Bargain for seven quid delivered.UPDATE: Over two years on and this belt is still going strong and as good as new. Can't fault it. Great product. Was this review helpful? Please click below, thanks!

Brilliant basic belt
Received mine today in black colour. I’m a 40” waist and this belt goes round me once and the end is above my rear jeans pocket, so about 1 1/3 times round me total.Buckle is lightweight plastic but is nice and secure. Clamps down tight on the belt. The extra elastic loop is a nice touch so if the belt end is in between your trouser loops you can tuck it in it so it’s not hanging and flapping loose. The end of the belt is cut and melted which leaves a sharp edge that could do with a bit of smoothing away at the edges.(see photo).

Good well-made belt that does not set off the security alarms.
We fly often enough to want to minimise the hassle of airports and airport 'security'. Clothes with metal buttons, metal belt buckles, metal anything -all have to be removed before the body scan. After doing the shuffle-of-shame with descending trousers one time too often, I looked for a belt with a non-metallic buckle. This was it.My concern was that a plastic belt buckle might fail and leave me shuffling full time. So I bought a few of these belts just in case, in assorted colours. They worked! Not just for flying - they are reliable enough for everyday use with no problems in six months. Not a major 'fashion' item, but smart enough for a big bloke like me in most situations. Ideal for flying! So these belts are tough enough to use daily, look good enough for most of the time, and do not set off the metal detectors.Recommended!
