Ralph Breaks The Internet

No 3D, no sale
Disney continues to snub 3D, after they once proclaimed themselves "the leader in 3D entertainment". While this movie was shown in 3D in theaters, it won't be getting any 3D home release, apparently not even in other countries. I have the first movie in 3D, and will not downgrade to a 2D presentation of the sequel- I'll just have to do without until they bother to do it right. In the meantime I'll be saving some money.

If a movie is released in 3D in theaters, it should be released in 3D on Blu ray in that country.
This abandoning of 3D Blu ray in the U.S. in lieu of a focus on 4k is completely unjust.Consumers see the billboards and advertising for these movies that get released on 3D in theaters... they know the movie exists. Often it isn't ideal to see them as a group in 3D in cinemas, though, given some people in the group may wear corrective lenses or get headaches from 3D.So we wait. We sit and expect that we'll have the opportunity to watch it in 3D on Blu ray. I mean, the hard part is already done, right? The movie was shot or converted to 3D before it ever hit theaters. But then it comes out on Blu ray in the US and there's no 3D. Inevitably, there are 3D versions often available from other countries, but it's often a gamble whether they'll be region-free or even affordable.A lot of this problem could also be resolved, I suppose, if the industry would just acknowledge that, in this day and age, region locking content is more effort than it's worth, since people shop and take in content globally anyhow.Anyway, one star on this title until a 3D Blu ray release. Sorry, Ralph!

Schweetz breaks the plot Wreck it Ralph 1
I'll make this short as I can as this trash should be forgotten to time. The moral value here is the worst in any Disney movie in recent memory remember. Ralph helps Vanellope fix what she broke, to only have her turn her back on everyone in her game to do what she wanted. No matter what responsibility she has. She breaks the first movie by doing this as she goes Turbo. You know the whole plot to the first movie. On top of that Ralph acts uncharacteristic by being incredibly dumb but still gets used by her. He risks himself to help her time and time again, and she does nothing for him or anyone else. What kind of a message is that? Ralph acts horrible, but tries to redeem himself, she uses him and others to get what she wants. Than the reaction is entirely on Ralph? The movies sound track and jokes are all on level of Planes. The writing with the exception of the princesses and one character are Fire and Rescue level of terrible. It really is that bad. This movie should not of happened.

Adults and kids love it here!
This quickly became a favorite among my kids and my wife and I after we saw it in the theater. The movie tries a little too hard to be trendy but that's to be expected I guess. They want to appeal to young and old crowds. The massive amount of Disney and Pixar put into the movie is a nice touch. My little one keeps pointing out all the random characters in it!

Love the movie but.....
I loved the mov. the problem that I had was the first DVD I got had glitches in it, the second does too but it was not as bad as the first. The picture would freeze for a few seconds but the sound keeps going. I might return the second one and see if the replacement DVD does the same. Anyone else have this problem.

The 56th classic completing the Complete Classics Collection and my thoughts on 3D or not 3D?
Well I actually enjoyed this film. Yes not as good as Wreck-it Ralph, however it is a perfect film to complete the Disney Classics complete collection, I thought due to the huge amount of Disney throwbacks noted in it (e.g. all the past Disney Princesses). The film did bring a small tear to my eye as an adult I appreciate more I think the subtle messages of friendships and morality and acceptance Disney kids films impart.I had mixed feelings about the realse not being in 3D. On the one hand I agree that in cinemas it was 3D so home release should have had the option. However, also as someone who purchased the complete Disney classics collection, that set did have space for this film as well, and if this film had of been released in 3D, I’d have wanted to buy a standard blu ray to complete the classics collection and a Blu-ray 3D version as well. So in that regard I’m happy it’s not been. But only for this one film Disney if you are listening!

Retro goes wifi
Ralph in his familiar 80’s coin operated arcade game style is back. This time Ralph and the even more interesting Vanellope von Schweetz have to travel to internet to find a replacement digital wheel on Ebay (of course) to salvage "Sugar Rush", Vaneloppe’s video game. During this trip they require help from ‘netizens’, the creatures that populate the internet. So the movie manages to make internet a more tangible, very lively and colourful environment that us populated by netizens and pop-ups. While there are lots of semi-familiar outlets like BuzzzTube or the Knowsmore search engine and crafty internet- and pop culture related easter eggs. There is even a dark net, a true magnet for villainy and filth. And as you might know the Disney fairytale princesses make an incredibly funny appearance to share some pearls of princess wisdom with Veneloppe, while addressing some of the classic Disney movie flaws (they all need men to rescue them). There is the mandatory cartoon lesson and message as well; the movie teaches children about the dangers of internet, that there is not only the joy of sharing silly viral videos among friends. But that there can be implications to vicious social media posts. Frankly such lectures are a bit more of a practical and original teachings than the more common cartoon themes about family values and cooperation. Moreover eventually these are also the scenes that move the heartstrings and that leave a lasting impression. It’s a very funny movie, full of action but with a charming story line. Even more than its predecessor its filled with dazzling graphics and perspectives, that were done a lot of justice with the blu ray version we ordered. So we had a great evening as it managed to entertain all of our family with ages ranging from 5 to 47.*** I very much enjoy reviewing products on Amazon, however there is little more satisfying than to learn that people read and like my reviews -> a click on the ‘helpful’ button below is greatly appreciated! ***

A whole new virtual world
A new Disney animation - computer not hand drawn, as they all are these days - and a sequel to 'Wreck It Ralph' from about six years back now.You could probably get into this easily if you've not seen the former, but familiarity with it will help you get more from this one.If you've not seen it then: Wreck It Ralph is a character in an amusement arcade game, a place where all the characters in all the machines come to life in their own world when humans aren't looking. Friends with Vanellope, a girl from a car race game whom he helped last time around. This time, the former is feeling tired of the same old thing. Ralph's attempt to provide something new for her cause problems and threaten to destroy her arcade machine. A chance to save that leads them into the internet. And all that awaits out there. But even if the machine is saved, their lives might change forever anyhow. Something Ralph will have to come to terms with...Although, like any sequel, it lacks the shock of the new and the originality of the first film, there's still a lot of fun to be had here. Two strong lead characters who are well played and well written as well. It does a lot of fun things when they get to the internet, and there's always a lot going on in the background, where there's consistently excellent animation. It is one of those films that works on different levels and equally well for kids and grown ups.Disney do manage to use all that they have the rights to really well here as well. With some highly entertaining cameos from various of their properties. There is a central moral core to the whole thing, but it's never overstated. But it's not a five star film, as it does feel as if the writing does rather play it a bit too safe at times, and that this never really cuts loose quite as much as it could. So you'll finish it with a smile on your face, but you won't be in hysterics. It's time well spent watching it though, so it's a good four star movie. And do keep watching to the end of the credits, for a great extra scene in the middle of them that might resolve a question you might have, and a very fun one at the end.Languages and subtitles on this dvd are:Languages: English, Arabic, Italian.Subtitles: English,. Arabic, Italian. It's also English audio captioned. As with all Disney DVDS these days, it begins with various trailers that you can skip via the next button on the dvd remote. And which turn up again in the sneak peeks section of the disc anyhow. And it has no extras at all.And of course it's just a 2d copy of the movie, but since 3d does nothing for me at all, that's fine by me.

Wreck-It Ralph Does Frozen!
Great film pity the DVD does not play properly!! Every time the film is played the sound freezes, around but not at the same point. It requires a rewind to the start of the current scene to re-activate the sound. I would suggest you watch the film within the ‘return window’ so if your copy is faulty you can send it back. We were not so lucky we didn’t so can’t!!
