Any Offer that you Don't Resist is, by definition, irresistible.
This book has a couple good ideas in it. I feel a bit duped. How to sell your product or service in 3 seconds or less? The book uses about 3 examples of companies who have made what the author considers an "Irresistible Offer" - The author does not tell you how to construct your own irresistible offer, he just talks about the successes a handful of organizations have had. If he had more than a few examples the reader may be able to infer how to construct their own. Disappointed.

A very poor ROI
To produce a quality book, I believe, one needs #1 quality content #2 outstanding layout. This book delivers on neither of these criteria. It is written in a very chatty (amateurish) manner, which drove my professional brain crazy. I appreciate authors who take a logical well thought out approach-this book, for me, is too scattered and takes too many words/pages to say too little

A little dated, but still important info
When I ordered this, I knew that much of the material wouldn't be new to me. And, it wasn't. This is sound advice that's been copied, spun (rephrased), and repeated by many marketing experts.I was surprised at how much of this I already knew... but that's not the fault of the author. I've been involved in marketing since forever. Solid principles are eternal. If you don't learn them early, you don't survive the marketplace. On the other hand, I don't regret buying this book. Joyner is one of the top experts in this area of marketing. His book proves that, as he includes lots of insights I haven't seen anywhere else. Those extra tips were worth many times the cover price of this book.If you're new to marketing, this is probably one of the first books you should read.If you've been around the block a few times, and you're always looking for more insights, this is also worth buying & highlighting. On the other hand, if you simply have a casual interest in marketing, or you've been in marketing since forever... check your public library to see if they own this book. If they don't, buy a copy yourself, and then -- after you've read it -- donate it to the library. This is a classic that belongs within reach of anyone getting involved in marketing, for any reason. If you've been studying marketing and own lots of reports & other books, 90% of this may be "old news" for you. This book may not impress you. However, that other 10% might be the make-or-break info you need, to get the most from your marketing efforts.

MJ the master of the sale . . . but he's much more than that
Mark Joyner, whether teaching you how to market via word of mouth, how to improve your personal performance via simpleology courses, or just giving you general insight into life, is successful for one reason: honesty. His honesty and integrity allows him to see that which others who try to manipulate and control miss. And isn't that the secret to success? How many people ever desire to come back to a business, company, even person or individual who is phony? One who attempts to draw you in with deception and then does the bait and switch. Warren Buffett--he of multi-billions, the great investor--said that a major factor in choosing companies to invest in is based on whether or not you like the company enough (read people) to work there. Well, Mark Joyner is one of those people many enjoy working with. Because of his honest, straight forward approach. The Irresistible Offer is certainly that: honest. Even though it has its flaws--excessive examples, repetition, and at times, opaque theory--it is a book that truly displays the genius and great insight of its author. And you've got to believe (all you The Secret people) that if you seek the truth, the truth will seek you. Herein lies Joyner's gift.I once read a sales letter of Joyner's that hit to the core, issues I had been having in acquiring all-things-marketing to get my business going. He mentioned how marketers are charging hundreds of dollars for a "box full of 'secrets' that is nothing more than some low-quality audio recordings and poorly edited transcripts?" And how important it is that "A transformation of spirit without a direction and a clear plan might bring you happiness for a while, but if that happiness is not reinforced by real change in the real world, it is always short lived"? Personally, I have chosen to avoid many schemes, internet marketers, and plans or bonus-encrusted list blasts because "quality and value is more important to" me, as Joyner states. The book certainly has its more general philosophies, but it also gets into enough specifics on Word of Mouth and how to use it in your business to give the reader his money's worth . . . and then some. Great ROI, wouldn't you say Mark? Get it. It's worth every penny.

How to Sell Your Product in 3 Seconds?
The marketing methods of the past are losing effectiveness as consumers are getting smarter and smarter and have less and less time. What is needed is a new way of doing business - a method that is simultaneously socially responsible and far more effective than "old" marketing. The new way is "The Irresistible Offer". In this book, Mark Joyner not only gives step-by-step instructions on how to create powerful offers that allow you to outshine your competitors, but the real gemstone is that he tells you how to craft mind-blowing offers never before seen that scare the competition completely out of the race. If you follow the suggestions in this book, you will develop an endless stream of happy customers, eager to buy from you, again and again. Mark Joyner teaches you how to create wealth by getting inside the minds of your customers and make your products absolutely irresistible. The reach of this contagious book far exceeds modern marketing. It overflows in applications relevant to parents, managers, sales people, and school teachers, to name a few. "The Irresistible Offer" is so good and so easy to understand that buying from you becomes a no-brainer for your customers. Digest this book and you will have no problem selling any product to anyone.

Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle, but where's the steak?
I still cringe when I see this book come up as a recommendation for me. The book is written in such a manipulative and self-confident style that I felt dirty reading it.The advantages: it's a great idea (figure out your irresistible offer) and it's a short read. But the book itself is all sizzle and no steak. If you're genuinely interested in selling something you believe in, not just manipulating people, then read anything written by Robert Cialdini instead - he's got loads of science behind his thinking.

The irresistible book
Quite simply, this book taught me an awful lot that I use in every day life. Really taught me how to sell, what I found most useful were the concepts the author reveals. I advise taking some time to think about each chapter and concept and envisage how you can incorporate it into your sales strategy. The title alone is a great insight. Strongly recommend it.
