Sophia Loren Gold Boxset [Blu-ray]

Four of Sofia Loren's highest rated films offered in Italian language with English subtitles or in optional English language audio. These are superb movies and it's a treat to be able to relax and enjoy them in my native language instead of having to read the entire dialogue and only get to see the video portion via peripheral vision.

Excuse my English but I am an Italian collector ... I love Sophia Loren and collect all his films. Despite the poor quality video I bought this dvd because it is the only commercially with the film "Angela" by Boris Sagal. I recommend this dvd to collectors, but if you seek the movie "Two Women" is better to buy another edition, as audio and video are pretty bad.

It didn't play on any of my 3 players .. this is the 3rd Dvd I've been sent that doesn't work ..

I love how they picked THAT scene from "Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow" (in Italian: "Leri, Oggi, Domani") for the boxset cover! This won the 1965 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film plus a Bafta for Best Foreign Actor (Marcello Mastroianni), so based on this alone, the set is worth having. Sophia Loren plays three wildly different characters: Adeline, a smuggler living in Naples, Anna, the bored wife of a rich Milanese industrialist, and Mara, a young Roman sex worker. It is under this last guise that Loren created one of the most sensual scenes in cinematic history – the striptease depicted on the cover.I may or may not have seen the other movies in the set ("Marraige Italian Style" sounds very familiar), but will definitely be pre-ordering this just to watch "Leri, Oggi, Domani" remastered in HD.
