Digitally remastered and expanded edition of this album from the Disco/R&B diva. Donna Summer gained prominence during the 1970s Disco era, propelled by her incessant and creative driving force behind the genre's global popularity, rightly earning the title Queen of Disco and becoming one of the most successful recording artists of the entire decade. The third album released for the Geffen label was 1984's CATS WITHOUT CLAWS, which was produced by Michael Omartian, who gave the album a mid-80s dance/pop themed sound. The album's singles included 'Supernatural Love', 'There Goes My Baby' and 'Eyes'. This remastered reissue, is packaged in a sumptuous case-bound book, containing the original full album credits and acknowledgements, newly authored liner notes by noted US writer Justin 'Musicology' Kantor, as well as the lyrics, as included in the original LP and features the original studio album with non-album 'B' side and extra singles mixes.

Donna Summer's best GEFFEN release- right up their her Casablanca releases
I love this CD. This CD has energy it is a mixed bag of rock, dance, gospel, This is one of Donna Summer's favoritereleases. It is a bit different than any of her CD's. It sounds like she had alot of fun recording this CD. I like it becauseit is so different yet it all comes together, My favorite cuts, "Oh Billy Please", "Maybe it's over", "There goes my baby" ,"I'm Free", Supernatural Love" This recording is a great combination of Donna Summer's voice and excellent drivingmusic. This CD reminds me a bit of " Bad Girls". All of her Casablanca releases are classic more than disco to me.She has such a amazing voice , big, powerful, and her productions are always flawless

One of her best albums-very underrated!
While this album was kit a huge seller and only produced one minor pop chart hit, it’s still one of favorites by her. The extended remixes of Supernatural Love and Eyes are fantastic. A must for Donna fans!

Michael Omartian Pop Pleasure
I remember my Mom bought this tape, when I was a kid. The only family enjoyed it, but I was particularly taken by Omartian's production (yeah... even as a kid, I was into that), the melodies and the chord choices of these pop songs. Plus, Donna Summer's voice is always top notch. Just a good record with lots of great memories.

HERE KITTY KITTY.......
Yes, some of the reviewers don't like every song. I can hear why. She took the most chances after the Casablanca Years with Geffen Records. This was in the vein of The Wanderer (1980), also on Geffen. The following tracks make this a must have:3) THERE GOES MY BABY (4:24) (122 BPM)4) SUZANNA (4:31) (129 BPM)5) CATS W/O CLAWS (4:23) (Oh, was Giorgio in the studio too???)6) OH BILLY PLEASE (4:56) (You know you have friends that would make this a complete production) (Or they have!)7) E Y E S (4:46) (124 BPM) I LOVE THIS !!!!!10) FORGIVE ME (BALLAD) (4:32) Super Sweet Summer :o)You just can't write a hit song everyday. But Summer & Co. gave it their all folks. PS: There is more than one listing for this disc, click the other CD available for a price much less than the almost $50 one found here.

Love, Love Donna!!!
I had the album and cassette of this album. It brought back such great memories. I still love her music. What a powerful voice. She will certainly be missed, especially by me. Donna is another one of my favorite icons. Gary

The Jewel in the Queen's Crown? If you can find it~!
One of the enduring things about Donna Summer is the ability to transform even mundance songs into dance tracks with that powerhouse voice that carried her from the chorus' of the 60's musicals to the forefront of the disco era.One thing is for certain - if you have the cassette, the LP(album), or the elusive CD (of which I have all 3 formats and 2 of the cd version), this is an album that shows again that Donna was on top of her game right after SHE WORKS HARD FOR THE MONEY hit the airwaves.working again with the same producer, Michael Omartian, she provides "ear candy" track after track. Everything from her signature diso-esque sounds to full on gospel.Worth the price when you can find it - in any format~!

4 STARS FOR THE MUSIC........1 STAR FOR THE MERCURY RECORDS REISSUE.
Dont be fooled, no, no, no, this is not the Geffen release of CAT WITHOUT CLAWS, but the very bad and cheap reissue of it put out by mercury records, the cover is fuzzy, there is no booklet inside, the back cover is this ugly pink and white mess with black lines, words on the back about donna and how this cd chated in the U.S and the U.kand a nice plug on how mercury records has made this part of there archive collection.....WHO CARES? The cd sounds ok, but they have made a big mees of the orignal art work...what a shame, donna deserves much better for her hard work and great music, i hated the reissue so much, i returned it, and bought the real geffen release for twice the price, call me crazy, but i am glad i did. this cd and THE WANDERER, and ALL SYSTEMS GO also have been reissued like this, if your looking for the cheap badly done reissue..its what you want, if your a big fan, you will want the real Geffen release.....all of these are out of print, the geffen ones are getting very hard to get.........get them while there still around.

Get your Eyes (and hands) on this excellent reissue
This review is for the 2014 remastered and expanded edition of Eyes.Originally released when the electronic dance sound of the 80s exploded and brought rattling drum machines to the fore, Donna Summer's fourth album after leaving behind her disco days on Casablanca finds an excellent balance between New Wave/rock, dance and pop.Supernatural Love was a storming slice of Hi-NRG with sizzling synths, while Eyes was an insistent mid-tempo dance track driven by its own unique sound and with intriguing lyrics that draw you in as much as the mesmeric groove. Remixer John 'Jellybean' Benitez reworked Eyes with his usual New York latin percussion for the 7" and 12" mixes (as well as remixing I'm Free for the B-side), but the album version is also fantastic in its own right.Several of the other mid-tempo album cuts are excellent, including It's Not The Way, Face The Music and Oh Billy Please. The slower number Maybe It's Over - with slinky saxophone and keyboards - is also superb. This highly underrated album gets a sparkling remastered reissue and sounds simply fantastic, bolstered by its presentation with a superb booklet.
