Poor battery life - avoid if you want to use without plugging in!
This is a good unit sound wise, with good tonal options and an Aux input. The big drawback is the battery life, if you wish to use it without it being plugged into the mains.Firstly there are no charging instructions given. You have to try and work out for yourself how long to charge it for.Charging the unit using the supplied lead until the (what appears to be the charging) green light goes out, takes around 1 hour and gives around 45-60 minutes playing time only before the unit dies.My first unit was returned, with the retailer exchanging it for a different unit - but with the same issue.Having queried how to charge the unit with Ashdown., I was told that what I was doing was a 'quick charge' and that a 'standard charge' takes 14 hours, even though there is no instruction to this effect included within the unit and even though the green charging light still goes out after an hour.Even carrying out an overnight 14 hour charge still yields only 2/3 hours playing time and this is using the unit at low volumes. This is very poor for a unit of this type and completely contrary to all the advertising for the unit which suggests 8 hours playing time between charges.Ashdown tested one for me and said that an overnight charge gave them 2/3 hours 'at full volume', which they consider to be acceptable for 14 hours charging time (Really??). This begs the question - why advertise 8 hours then??
