Q: How is this powered? I'm looking for a batterie operated unit. There is no mention anywhere on the page on how it's powerered.

This unit has to be plugged into an outlet in order for it to operate. It does not operate on batteries. It comes with a 110V adaptor

Q: are you supposed to be able to hear it? the directions said that it would be nearly silent but me and my sister hear it just fine.

Some people may hear ultrasonic frequency or a humming noise with the unit but it is silent to most people.

Q: Need this to repel mice in travel trailer in IL...can it withstand winters inside a trailer being stored?

dont buy

bought this jan 2020, didnt start using until sept2021. all 3 settings are audible and noisy. So far it has actually failed to rid us of anything. very disappointed!!!
