This is very cute but also effective, it takes up so little space and is great for opening packages. The blade is sharp enough for boxes but not likely to accidentally cut anyone. Would buy again.

FYI...THE BLADE SWITCHES FROM LEFT TO RIGHT.THE LOCK SLIDE ISN'T FOR LOCKING THE BLADE... IT'S FOR OPENING THE CASE TO TURN/REPLACE THE BLADE. The green one auto retracts when you let go of the slide and the orange stays up when you slide it. They are two different cutters. The lock function has nothing to do with the blade staying up.I work in a restaurant kitchen and I have used this little baby every day for over a year. It's the perfect size to keep in my pocket, it won't accidentally cut me, it slices through box tape and bags like butter, it's magnetic, and it's durable. I've dropped it, chipped the tip, and it's still going strong. I bought a backup because this makes my life so much easier. Not the tool for slicing the sides of boxes or cutting through packing cords, but for opening boxes and bags.... This is the tool you need.

I never thought I needed something like this -- why not just use a scissor, a pen, your finger? But I bought it at least a year ago as it was on sale and had good reviews. It is such a game changer! We keep it where we tend to open our packages and use it for each box that comes our way. I love it so much I bought another recently to keep upstairs in my Crafty Loft as I usually open those boxes there. Here is why: It is an easy and safe way to open your boxes; much more easier than a scissor, a pen, or your finger, or a typical box cutter. The blade stays sharp, still sharp after a good year and used several times a week. Big or small boxes, it works well! I love the size; it doesn't take up any room where I keep it and it fits nicely in my hand when I use it. I have never thought that it was too small. It still looks and works as new even after a year. I have had no issues with the lock functionality. FYI: this review is for the Slice Manual Mini Cutter #10515.

4 star because it's a little flimsy, it pops apart easily. But was cheap and it does the job. Easier than digging out the scissors of exacto knife for breaking down boxes. And the magnet is nice so I can hang it on the fridge.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I was skeptical about this product. I figured you should use anything to open a package. Scissors, a pen tip, finger nails etc. I am amazed at how easy this thing is to just grab and cut. It cuts with so much ease and it’s totally safe for my kids to use it too. The best part? It has a built in magnet so it attaches to the fridge so it’s always handy! Highly recommend!

Fantastic! Small and easy to use. Very helpful in cutting boxes open safely

I've purchased a few of these for use at work. I keep them on my keychain and in my pocket all day. Ergonomically it is very good, easy to open, use and have put away in a few seconds even as a lefty. There are a few issues though. The product has two halves and a locking mechanism that you open to either lock onto your keychain or replace the blade, the locking mechanism is just a slide that goes up over a small plastic tab. If you keep this on your keychain in your pocket, without fail this tab will get nudged to the unlocked position and slide off the keychain or split open the whole tool. I kept a piece of masking tape over the tab to prevent this.The second issue is that without fail, after about 3 or 4 months of heavy use these break. I don't know if its the plastic locking tab or something else breaking, but they all will no longer clip back together and stay locked which necessitates buying a new one. I have never had one last long enough to require replacing the blade. I'd be happy to pay a bit more for a more sturdily built version of this, but that doesn't seem to exist at the moment.I will note that the blade is pretty safe, it is possible to cut yourself but it requires quite a bit of force rather than just accidentally nicking a finger. The tool is also very light, you won't feel it in your pocket which is nice.

We love this and use it all the time. This is our second one- we lost the first one. They’ve made a small improvement since the first one we bought - they put a magnet inside so we just stick it to the fridge. Our first one was black, hoping this pink/yellow one will be easier to keep track of. No complaints!
