Heart Break is the fifth studio album by New Edition, originally released in 1988 through MCA Records. This platinum-certified album marks a transition to a more mature sound for the group, and a transformative era in R&B as the musical landscape evolved. It also played a crucial role in launching their solo careers, following the success of four Top 5 R&B hits, "Can You Stand the Rain," "You're Not My Kind of Girl," "Crucial," and "If It Isn't Love," which also peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100. Review: Great move adding Johnny Gill to the group! - My favorite album from New Edition. Review: This Is What It Means - To come out with a "classic album" from start to finish. It is very easy to see that "Heartbreak" is one of the best New Edition albums they put out. If not one of the best albums out there period. Even if you've only heard this album once, i know that there is totally a song for anyone on this album. It has the slow jams "Boys To Men", "Can You Stand The Rain", "I'm Coming Home" and "Superlady". It also has its midtempo jams in "You're Not My Kind of Girl" which could be considered uptempo because it has a nice beat to it, along with some interesting sound/vocals as well. "NE Heartbreak" is a fun and entertaining song for me, it just NE describing there "many" fun run ins with various fans at a concert, in a limo and all that. There isnt one song on this cd that i don't like and usually with me. At least there will be one song on a cd that i just can't stand that's not even the case here at all. I love everything about it and what i love most about it. New Edition doesn't have to resort to all out sexing up a woman to get her attention. They let their talent speak for them and it does in volumes. Vocals on point, songs/writing very much on point and pertinent with what was going on at the time for them and others at the same time. Dance routine/moves, come on this NE and when it came right down to it. They can/will knock those other groups out the box. Just look at the video for "If It Isn't Love" they went through some stuff on this video and it made the experience that much better. Seeing New Edition in concert is totally a must and if i get the chance i will go again. Looking forward to NE for as long as they wanna continue making music. "Heartbreak" is on heavy rotation on my cd player and will continue to be. Along with other NE cds as well....check out their latest cd on Bad Boy label as well. Peace out, A NE fanatic in full effect!!!

I've Loved New Edition for Most of My Life and Love This CD
Love this CD. It brings back great memories of my childhood/adolescence. I got to see them in concert in March 2023, so that experience makes listening to this CD even better.

It has all the remixes and extended versions from the 12" records!
I didn't know about this version of the HEART BREAK album! Just found it on Amazon. It has all the remixes and extended versions! I had all the 12" versions of this singles but never had them digitally. This is a great way to get them all in digital format. Plus, when I bought the original CD back in 1988 the levels of audio were really low so I'm hoping this is a better sounding version.

and it's still a good album. This is also an album that came ...
This is New Edition's fifth album from 1988, and it's still a good album. It's is also an album that came out in the same year as Bobby Brown's "Don't Be Cruel" album, and I would play and listen to this album along with that album by Bobby Brown, a member who was with New Edition and had left and went solo. And along with listening to this album by New Edition, I would also play and listen to all four of New Edition's first albums from 1983. There's also a movie with New Edition and their music videos called "Past and Present," a rare movie on a VHS tape that I also have and that came out a year after this album. And I would watch that movie with New Edition and their music videos from this album "Heart Break." This album was also when Johnny Gill joined the group after Bobby Brown left and went solo. So from the "Past and Present" movie with New Edition and their music videos, there's 2 music videos from this album with Johnny Gill singing, and "Boys To Men" and "Can You Stand The Rain" are the songs and videos. It also shows videos all of the members of New Edition from the "Past and Present" movie singing other songs from this album, and the songs and videos are "If It Isn't Love," "Crucial," "NE Heartbreak," and "You're Not My Kind Of Girl." I remember when I was kid and when this album came out, I started to like New Edition and their music. So this album by New Edition is still one of the good albums I've ever heard.

After Home Again, Heart Break is my favorite album. It's the album that introduced me to New Edition. I love it! It has so many classic RnB songs! I'm also very glad to see how much attention NE is getting these days after the succesful mini-series. They deserve it all. Hope that 2017 is going to be a great year for them. #NE4LIFE!!!❤️❤️❤️
