Master Paint Set

My daughter and I tried oil painting for the very first time with this kit, and overall, we were happy with our results. Enough paint to paint at least three 16"x20" paintings. Note that not all colors needed for the painting are included, but you can mix the colors that are included to get the same results. I found the booklet informative, but my daughter preferred watching the video. Make sure to get some quality brush cleaner solution, and get more than you think you'll need. The brushes and paint are high quality, but some spare brushes would be nice if you intend to get into the hobby.

Good paints and brushes, fun project. It was my first attempt at painting, so the step by step instructions and video on the Bob Ross channel were great. I have a lot to learn and made several mistakes but overall I am happy with the result, and will try the techniques again. The kit comes with plenty of paint for several projects.

Great price for everything that is included!

First, Just let me say that everything looks exactly as pictured in the box. I was absolutely pleased with this as I bought it for a gift for my wife. My wife loves to paint, but has only used acrylics, so this will be her first oil-based paint set. She was so excited! Everything was well wrapped and organized. It even comes with a booklet that has step by step instructions on how to paint the picture on the box!

Gave as a gift after watching Bob Ross on TV. Kit is a good starter kit!

I actually did a painting (similar) to the one in this set. It does help to watch the Bob Ross shows on PSB, Netflix and/or Amazon Prime (a million times like I have - lol). The box set didn't have every color that was listed on the dvd, but in the book that is included it tells you how to mix the paints so you won't need the few that are not included. The first half of the dvd tells about how to paint with the brushes and paints and the second part is the actual instructions for this picture. I was surprised that it actually did work! Things I bought that weren't in the box: Turpenoid (Bob Ross brush cleaner); the bucket with the screen to clean the brushes; the rack to beat the brushes on and a waste can to fit the rack in (used trash can liner in that). I bought a cheap palette and plastic to put on the ground so I wouldn't get paint all over. I've already done my second painting. I bought a very cheap easel ($20) to use until I know if I will be doing lots of paintings, since a good easel is usually very expensive. I would definitely recommend this set to anyone who has watched Bob Ross many times and would like to paint like him. He's right - you really can do it!
