BoyeYarn Knitting for Beginners Kit, 9 Patterns

Very pleased with this book. As a novice, walked me through the fundamentals very nicely. The needles that came with are great for a beginner.One thing: The needles are 10 and 13 so the correct yarn to purchase is 5 or 6 weight. The yarn set suggested by Amazon was 3 weight (not the book’s fault). Interesting for a beginner because it makes the stitches very wide but will not look as desired.The book itself is excellent and I look forward to following the patterns once I buy the correct yarn.

Great colors

I am a newbie to knitting. I had a hard time following the book. So I ended up watching YouTube. But the needles are good.

Really nice the directions are kind of hard but I just youtubed it and it became easier and easier

The instruction book was almost obsolete as I ended up watching YouTube tutorials on how to to stitches as the illustrations were very confusion. The kit also comes with aluminum needles, which are too slippery and yarn slips off easily. For beginners, the needles should have been bamboo, which has some grip. A month later, I mostly use the book for the patterns in the back, and, with some experience under my belt, I have begun using the aluminum needles.

I have never knit before. Over the course of 12 hours, I’d created my first knitted strip to make a blanket. The book teaches you different terms and abbreviations used in knitting instructions, and just like a recipe it tells you the type of yarn and color to buy (you can use different colors than what's listed.) The needles are super light weight aluminum, it's very easy to slip stitches with the smooth surface.

This set came with everything my daughter needed to embark on her new knitting hobby. Very useful! Will need a bag of some sort to carry this set and yarn in. I saw some nice ones here on Amazon but she just absconded with a pretty tote of mine.

Would buy again

Perfect sizes for learning this new hobby!!!

It was a gift and the person does not have it yet. One idea is to include a ball of yarn so the person can use it right away.

I liked the items in the kit but found the needles to be very slippery resulting in many stiches being lost. Learning to knit again has been difficult.

This book is a good start, but you need to supplement a lot of the instructions with YouTube videos. Still, this comes with good starter needles, and the book has a handy cheat sheet for knitting abbreviations.

Packaging was opened and resealed..looks used and items taped inside to plastic. Thought buying new. Very disappointed.
