***UPDATE*** After originally purchasing this match lighter I received a defective lighter in my order (as I mentioned below in my original review, one of the lighters was missing its flint.) However, only a day after I wrote my review of my negative experience, the seller of this product contacted me immediately. They were friendly, professional, and very apologetic about the mistake, assuring me that my satisfaction with their product is their number 1 concern. They then offered to send me a brand new package of lighters, completely free of charge, to right their mistake. I truly appreciate the level of service I received and I definitely think this deserves an updated review with a few extra stars tacked on. Everyone makes mistakes, coming from a manufacturing background I totally understand this. The important part is the manufacturer understood that despite mistakes being inevitable, they are not satisfied with a mistake occurring unchecked and unresolved. Thanks again for the great response and service! Original Review: Very cool lighter that can be useful in many situations. It works well as expected. I just had one big issue with my order: the package comes with 2 lighters and I had planned to keep one and give one to my brother as we like to smoke cigars sometimes when we hang out. Except I can't do that now because 1 of the lighters I received has no flint! So essentially I only received 1 working lighter for the price of 2...unfortunate.

I am thrilled to have found this product. Years ago when I was involved in the Boy Scouts one of the older Scoutmasters had one from back in the day. All the ease of a zippo, without your lighter fluid drying up. I've kept an eye out for one in sporting goods shops for years. Before the Amazon age, you just couldn't find these. Here's the deal, there's two parts, the match, and the body. The match is a metal tube stuffed with cotton. There's a little tuft of cotton sticking out the end along with a steel striker. The body of the thing is full of lighter fluid. The matchstick screws in with an O-ring so your fluid doesn't leak or evaporate. You unscrew the match, strike it on the flint on the side of the body, and it lights like a match. The fluid in the cotton will burn long enough to easily start a campfire or light a pipe. No more burned fingers from trying to hold the little button long enough to get your tinder to catch. The match will burn until you blow it out, ir till it uses up all the fluid soaked into the cotton. I dont know how long that would take. I've always had my fire lit before it burned out.

I love these things. Unfortunately, one of these lost its fibers on the match--wonder if you can't a replacement? LMK if you see this YUSUD.

Was going to be a gift for backwoods campers. Didn’t light up as shown and unfortunately fluid dripped out when striking match mechanism and blazed up….this was dangerous

They worked as expected. Read alot of reviews saying that they wouldn't light, but if you know how to use them, or if you read the instructions you'll know to scrape off all the protective coating on the flint before It will work properly, and be sure to fill it with lighter fluid. Just like a regular flip lighter it will be empty when it is sent so you will have to follow it before use. So if you take that into consideration, it works exactly how it is supposed to.

They only light after several attempts. The flint works fine & sparks are created, but even after being saturated with the lighter fluid, the wick isn’t easy to light. After several attempts it will eventually light & the wick stays lit, but getting them to light is extremely frustrating. Also, if there is any breeze, watch those fingers! because waving the “match” doesn’t necessarily put out the flames. Plus having to make sure your other hand isn’t letting any of that lighter fluid spill while trying to light something felt like a juggling act. Overall, I’ll stick to my reliable, predictable and much-easier-to-use-with-one-hand torch lighter.

Had to get these. As a wildland firefighter there are times when I need a flame to light a drip torch for firing out and defensive firing. A lighter will work as well but I love the durability and functionality of these. I keep one clipped to my should strap for easy access and don’t worry about it getting damaged or leaking when exposed to high temps. Love showing it off to coworkers because it’s so simple and elegant.

Wick will not ignite unless I use a lighter. Hard to use and spills the kerosene inside the case. Will not buy again. And yes I did read and follow all instructions to the letter.
