Empower yourself on your health care!
I'm a 31 year old woman - overweight but otherwise healthy and developed a leg ulcer after a year of discoloration/rash on my legs. After seeing multiple dermatologists for this issue - I was ultimately told I had Lipodermatosclerosis. Unhappy with the results I was getting trying to heal my wound I came across this book and purchased it immediately. Thankfully realizing that a dermatologist was not the doctor I needed but rather a vien dr. - I was able to schedule an appointment and send in an authorization for the surgery needed to correct my venous reflux. (Was also told Lipodermatosclorisis is a symptom not a diagnosis) This book was a godsend and my vien dr. praised me for being well versed in my issues. Thank you Amazon for selling and Thank you Mark Whiteley for publishing a clear and concise book to inform the every day person!

So, leg ulcers can be cured. Who knew?
This book taught me more about my leg ulcers in one day of reading then my doctors and wound care specialist in all the eight years that I’ve been treated by them. I have wasted more money and time when I could have been cured. I recommend this book to everyone with leg ulcers and varicose veins. The next time you see your doctor show them this book if they have nerves sent you to get an venous duplex ultrasound. That’s the first step in seriously curing leg ulcers. I just had mine. I get my results August 13th 2019. Will post update. Would have given this book a 10 if I could.

Treatments are available to cure leg ulcers
Really good read, easy to understand and very important everyone is aware there are treatments available to cure leg ulcers, not just manage them in compression.Thoroughly recommend this book for Community/Practice Nurses to read.I work usually within a Specialist Complex Leg Wound Service but am currently redeployed with Community Nurses through the Covid pandemic, I feel this book would benefit my Community colleagues greatly and help them to understand the importance in establishing the underlying cause of the ulcer and not basing everything on abpi results - the Doppler is the cherry on the top really, if a thorough holistic assessment has been performed, you’ll have your diagnosis of the type of ulcer before performing the Doppler! 😊

Excellent informative book
I work as a Nurse in a Community leg Ulcer clinic and as stated by the author I certainly did find this book 'shocking'.I was shocked at my lack of knowledge regarding procedures to 'cure' venous leg ulcers as opposed to attempting to 'heal' them as I do on a daily basis.I found the book well written, easy to follow and extremely interesting.I plan to discuss its contents at my next staff meeting. My thanks go to the author.

Leg Ulcers
This is an excellent book. Mark Whitley and his clinic have performed a number of vascular operations on my legs and I know from visiting hic clinics in Guildford and London and discussing issues with a very experienced team that there is no reason for anyone to suffer with leg ulcers. Regrettably so many take the word of GPs that are inexperienced in this field and continually suffer the consequences.
