This is a great book for adults who would like to work with students in a maker space. Unfortunately, from the marketing of this product, I thought this book would make a good gift for a young teen maker. After looking through the book I see that there are just not enough pictures and the directions aimed at adults will most likely discourage him from following through with the activities. This book should be marketing as a teaching tool rather than a book for makers.

Not enough projects that I could use
I ordered this book hoping to get ideas for my after-school program with elementary school age children. I should have looked more closely at the book before ordering, because I didn't find very much in the book that appealed to me. For me, the black-and-white photos were difficult to look at, and many of the projects use specific materials that I don't have. If you are interested in maker-space projects, look closely to see if this book matches your materials & project needs.

This seems to me to be a little more advanced than the author's "Evil Genius" book. So I might get this second after you've had some time to get to know and work with the Makey Makey. Also, you need a basic knowledge of soldering for a lot of the projects.

Four Stars
A really needed book for makers, I wish there would have been more pictures, hence the 4 stars

Great book, lots of fun activities and good instructions with pictures. It has been enjoyed by my children from 4yo to 14yo and the neighbor kids. Excited to see my students looking through the book for their own "spatks".

Fantastic 'rich' maker projects for your budding inventor/electrical engineer/programmer
Great book full of projects from really simple makes to more complex. These are "rich makes" that cover lots of skills and areas at once - so you might be using textile skills to sew some wearable tech, and then programming it do something or building a simple robot using eletronics skills and then making it a maze to move through using structures knowledge. The book is in black and white but it is clearly illustrated and the step by step guides are easy to follow. If buying it as a gift think about getting some of the necessary (cheap!) components to go with it so your new maker can jump in and make at least project 1 straight away.

Many of the projects are using maker kits sold online
About half of the projects in the book involve buying somewhat expensive kits, such as Makey Makey, LilyPad LittleBits or even having a 3-D printer. The first chapter involves a bunch of "inexpensive projects" by using the parts to an electric toothbrush. I think this book is a real disappointment. I want things I can actually make.

Great for teachers looking for Maker projects.
Great for teachers. Unless you’re a shop teacher, this book gives a huge number of projects that can be done by a range of student ability levels. If you are a shop teacher, this can give you a starting point for prototypes and ideas that students could take to the next level.

Bien
Me ha gustado, muchas ideas a nivel tecnológico y parecen bastante bien explicadas. Aún no las he llevado a cabo asique no puedo decir si funcionan.
