Sewing 101, Revised and Updated: Master Basic Skills and Techniques Easily through Step-by-Step Instruction

Great book, well written, and easy to follow for a novice sewing enthusiast to someone with some experience.

I checked this book out at the library before I purchased it. It is easy to understand, excellent illustrations, and easy instructions. I also thought the DVD included was clear and just another way to follow along. This was worth my money. I am teaching myself to sew without a class and this this book has been my teacher.

I've been sewing for a long time, self taught and needed something to teach me the basics and fill in what I had not figured out myself. I have a friend that is a sewing teacher and she recommended this book to me. She loaned me her copy and I was thrilled. It is simple to read, and filled with LOTS of excellent information. Her copy had a CD in it and this copy gives you a web site which shows you the same information as is on the CD. I STRONGLY recommend this book to anyone that sews but especially to those beginners.

This book is amazing, I know how to sew, I took home economics in high school a very long time ago and I have sewn for years, but sometimes when you haven't done a particular project in a while it is a good thing to have a refresher and this book very helpful. Also, my daughter wants me to teach her and I got a copy of this for her too... it will be fun!

I bought this as a Christmas Gift for my daughter in law, It came with the DVD and she is new to sewing. Since is was a gift I could not watch the DVD but the book had a lot of next tips on sewing and it was laid out nicely with lots of photos.

I know more about sewing and was hoping this book would have covered more details I was particularly looking for. I was wanting a refresher on some techniques. Covers the basics. I wished in selling the product they would have shown some of the features inside the book as examples to give more of an idea of what's in it of the examples. It's was also printed in China and not USA. It also talks about videos online. So far, I have not seen a website or information mentioned within the book about the videos. I will have to read more of the book to find this information. Nicely illustrated book.

I am a very new beginner. This book is a must if you are a 67year old grammy like me and always wanted to learn to sew, but was confused by all the sewing "jargon". Sewing skills are taken one step at a time and that's what I needed, along with the glossary and the chapter on fabrics. Great book!!

Great book for me since I am just getting back into sewing after many years of raising kids. I did a lot of sewing as a young girl but this book has really helped me refresh my memory. I sure that newbies will be helped by this book also. Lots of great information. I refer back to it often

Great Resource for a beginner like me

Great on Kindle but still prefer to have on old format paper to turn easier reference but that's just my preference.

Demasiado elemental. Patrones con técnicas muy limitadas. No vale lo que cuesta. Hay libros mejores para empezar a coser.

An average sewing book. I was expecting something more from this book. Although it does give you some very good guidance in certain things, I do think it is not showing enough variations of techniques. As I already do quite a bit of sewing, I do not think that it is that great and some things it makes sound far more complicated what they really need to be. Not for me, but good for someone who wants to follow a "recipe"

I love this book. Its exactly what I was looking for.
