The hook is different that any other spreader bar. It looks nice, however functionality wise it is not good. The hole in the hook itself is big enough, but the donkey stick cannot move up and down, as the slot is very narrow. This causes the donkey stick to be damaged and cut (even though there are no sharp edges, but the friction does it).I was surprised of the bad level of NP customer service, as I had to convince them that it is not my equipment, rather their design flaw that got my equipment damaged. I had to ship the hook all the way to Hong Kong at my expense in order for it to get replaced with the newer model. Only the hook was replaced and sent back to me in the same box that i shipped it in - it seems very unprofessional for such a huge company. I own several other NP products and like them, but this one dropped the ball...Np's reply to my initial inquiry:"Please note that the narrower hook was not a defect that our QC missed. Itwas actually the first generation hook that was mostly offered in the USand Asia. The bigger hook was modified for Europe then a running changefor the rest of the world. Both hooks meets our specs for mass productionand both hooks have rounded edges that shouldn't cut the webbing of thechicken stick. The main advantage of the new hook is the slightly addedcurvature to reduce the chance of the loop slipping out.Your control system appears to be from previous seasons. Might be possiblethat the donkey stick is damaged from wear and tear"I'm including photos - judge for yourself...Be careful which hook you get, as you will be disappointed otherwise.I wish i would have realized this when I bought it, would have returned it right away.
