Cross quality has nose-dived
Cross quality has nose-dived since the 1990s. This pen is an example: the fit and finish is inferior, with a strip on the cap where it apparently rested during manufacture, leaving a distinct swathe that visibly does not match the rest of the pen's finish. You will see it if you get one, and wonder why you bought it and whether you should return it. The "buyer's remorse" on this is high, due to the poor fit and finish alone. The nib is scratchy, and far more of a medium or broad than a fine nib. The ink flow is good, as with most Cross fountain pens, but that is the only redeeming feature of this pen. In virtually every other respect, it's just inferior, including a cap that feels like it could come off at any moment. You would do much better with a Sheaffer. I say AVOID. Don't be fooled by the brand name, because these days the quality is just not there. (It's made in China, too, not in the USA like they were years ago.)

Cross Quality
Amazingly, my first rollerball purchase. Not sure why I waited so long. The brushed black PVD was too hard to resist. I love the weight of the pen and the ink is incredibly smooth. The test is if it pools when you pause writing; this does not. A hefty purchase for a pen but I splurged and would definitely get one as a nice office gift.

Fantastic pen, especially at the price
This is my 5th cross pen, and undoubtedly my favorite thus far.First thing to note about me. Although I use a computer for 90 percent of my day to day functions, I write a lot by hand. And almost always with a pen. I use either felt tip or fountain pens the majority of the time. I enjoy the process of writing, so a good pen is quite important to me.I was a little apprehensive of this pen due to the perceived bulkiness of the pictures. I usually like a sleek style because I enjoy the feeling of having more control over the tip. From a design standpoint, I think the pen is quite beautiful. I was tempted to go with the blue, but went with the all back option and have been quite happy. My first use of the pen was a little underwhelming. The writing style was great, but I felt like the pen was doing the writing, vs my fingers (if that makes any sense). After several days, however, I began to notice that I need less force and my fingers were barely holding onto the pen as I wrote. And while I still am getting use to the large size, I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience ever since.

Top Notch Pen
I can’t say enough good things about this great pen. From the black nib to the stealth black body. The nib has great flow and writes like butter. Cross makes some great pens and this is one of them. It rates up there with pens that cost 3x as much by other well respected fountain pen makers. I get compliments every time I pull it out and write with it. Liked it so much I bought it as a gift for my husband.

The best writing instrument - Cross!
I have always loved Cross pens. When I have one I always find a friend who likes it too and end up gifting it to them; Cross pens seem to be the best gift I could give to my friends!

Let Down
I've owned and used Cross pens for almost thirty years. I love their quality and durability. This particular pen is a bit of a let down. FIrst, the finish at the grip point of the pen collects fingerprints and smears like nothing I've ever seen. Try to wipe them off with a cotton cloth does nothing; you have to use cleaner. It would have been nice if they continued the diamond pattern the full length of the pen. Second, the cap does whatever it wants to do, it refuses to stay on the back end of the pen when in use. I have literally flung it across the room because it came of the back of the pen. Doesn't matter how hard you push down to secure it, it comes off. You can't really write without it, because the balance of the pen is thrown completely off. I hope that my pen is the one random defect.

Not impressed with this ballpoint pen
This is a pen that looks great and would be a great gift...if you're judging it based on looks alone. However, writing with it is just tedious. It's light, the ink doesn't flow consistently, and it's just a hassle to use. I ended up throwing mine in a junk drawer. If you're looking for a GREAT Cross pen, check out their rollerball pens. Those pens can write for weeks, months...without a problem. They also look great in your hand, refills are modestly priced, and they make great gifts.

Great
The pen looks and feels great. My only disappointment is that it didn't have an ink cartridge with it, and I'd not ordered any cartridges as the description said it came with one. Only a minor gripe, the pen will be great when I get to use it. Arrived in great time too. My refill arrived, and as expected the pen is so good, it writes beautifully!! I love it!!

Great Ballpoint
Very nice. Love the dark finish to this ballpoint.Pens are personal to each individual so i will only base my review on my experience with this ballpoint. I love it the only tiny little critique I personally find is the ballpoints barrel is slightly too wide for a perfect in hand experience for my writing style.I still think this is a superb pen and really Recommend it.

Opening and closing the pen SQUEAKS loudly, cartridge stiff and clunky to extract and refasten
The pen is not VFM, the price versus the poor quality is not synonymous with the Cross brand.. However the annoying squeal when opening and replacing the top is insupportable. When opening to replace the cartridge it is stiff and jerky and certainly not a seamless task. I was perspiring even before I had put pen to paper. Lastly the ochre trim lining the box was not what I was expecting!

Really Nice pen
Seems great quality don't understand where other comments are coming from. If your hands are sweaty it can be a bit slippery but if you put a small black sticker pad thing on the bottom of it it is hardly noticeable and stops that slipping. However, it doesn't slip unless you literally are soaking wet. The quality seems nice, just a shame I didn't get it engraved. The design looks even cooler in person too. The texture of the brushed metal is really nice and is in nice contrast to the chrome grip. Would defo buy again but would get an engraving.

Empty Box... No Pen !!!
No quality control as they delivered an empty box, no pen (item) inside. The sticker-label across the box edge was torn. I have immediately complained and of course demanded a refund. Extremely disappointed as I have recently ordered several Cross Pens and had no issues, but to be sent an empty box is ridiculous.
