Absolutely Perfect for My Two Year Old
This was purchased as a birthday gift for a two year old and she absolutely loves it. I will warn you, it takes about 2 to 3 hours to put the thing together. I highly suggest putting it together before you present the gift to the child otherwise you are going to be dealing with a frustrated child who wants to play with her toy buy can't because she has to wait for you to assemble it. If you assemble it before giving the gift, that resolves the problem. That is how we handled it. My mistake was leaving it in my walk-in closet not really hidden. My two year old rarely goes into my closet so I didn't think twice about this. However, as Murphy's Law would dictate, she did indeed go into my closet after we had put this together and saw it, which resulted in her getting her birthday present 4 days early. The quality of the kitchen isn't like Little Tikes or anything, but it is stable enough to withstand the abuse of a two year old. She spends hours a day playing with it, has had it about six months, and has not yet broken anything on it. It makes realistic sounds, which she really likes, and I like the fact that all of the little accessories can be hidden inside the toy's drawers so they aren't strewn across my home and there is less of a chance of them becoming lost.Getting it together was such a pain in the rear I was only going to give it three stars during the assembly process but after seeing the end result and how much she loves it I had to up the rating to five stars. Yes it will be a nightmare for the few hours you have to spend assembling the thing but when you see how much your child will love it, it will be worth it in the end. That, combined with the fact that the price is so much more reasonable than any of the other toy kitchens I was looking at made this one of the best purchases of the year.Another thing to note is its size. It is a bit on the small side. While it is the perfect size for my two year old, I don't think it would be as suitable for an older child. The silver lining to that is that it does not take up a lot of space, which is a huge benefit for us considering the number of toys and play sets we have in the play area for the kids.

The Cuteness Will Induce Smiling
This kitchen is SOOOOO Cute! And my granddaughters happy birthday smile when she came in and saw it was delightful. Some of the reviews images had me thinking this kitchen would be a little small but I thought that's ok we can put it on the bench table in her bedroom. When it arrived the box was about the size I thought the kitchen would be! Anyway my son put the bottom half together in about an hour and I finished it the next day. I'm not at all mechanically inclined and I had no trouble completing the assembly. The instructions are very easy to understand. Do not detach the items from the molding frames until you actually need them, have adequate lighting and reading glasses handy. We used a wide flathead screwdriver, a utility knife, a nail file and a sturdy pair of kitchen shears. I found that if I use the tip of the scissors close to a needed item to trim it out of the frame I didn't need to trim smooth with the utility knife. Everything snapped together easily and held well. At one point it unsnapped with just a little effort when I tried to insert a part upsidedown...easy fix and a better look at the directions and we were on our way to done. For the little dishes I snipped close to the edges with the tip of the shears, trimmed of any bumps with the utility knife and my older grandson used the nail file to smooth the edges. Over all this project took us no more than two hours.Although it does wobble a little the kitchen is adorable and the wobble will not be an issue once the kids get the hang of using it. The quality surpasses the price paid considering that most of the other plastic sets are twice the price, still need assembly and are made in China where they just love to mold lead into the plastic toys they make for our children!!!! Take note the 80 dollar Disney Princess kitchen is plastic and CARDBOARD manufactured in China...as well as the 90 dollar Little Tikes set and the twice the price Step 2 kitchens.Granddaughter loves this kitchen and that is what counts the most!
