Acrylic Painting Step-by-Step (Step-by-Step Leisure Arts) Paperback – Illustrated, October 1, 2019

I looked at many acrylic painting books before I bought this one. It is not exactly an absolutely beginner's painting book by all mean. I used to paint in watercolor but always wanted to learn to paint in acrylic. I have just started to paint in acrylic this month and have completed a few canvas already and have received a lot of compliment in class and on the streets when I carry it home. I have to give credit to this book as it offer a lot of great painting techniques that I applied in my class. It is a great reference book if you enjoying painting.

Book suggests some supplies and shows basic techniques for landscapes, animals, trees, farm scapes, and flowers. Nice description of color mixing. Brief, but helpful.

Item received timely and was undamaged. Very pretty cover and nice content.

Good information is contained in the book but I was disappointed. My problem with it is the fact that the paintings I am interested in have no step by step illustrations. I buy step by step books so that I can learn how to achieve the paintings or pictures that I see and would like to paint. Unfortunately, I am still left in the dark as how to achieve what I am seeing. I feel if you call a book, step by step, all illustrations should show step by step. I am self taught and can't afford lessons. My frustration lies with books advertised as "step by step". Books of this nature should be described as Acrylic Painting with some step by step illustrations.

I'm a acrylic art teacher always looking for ways to make it easier for my classes. I also love flowers and this book shows many simplified ways to produce realistic looking flowers with different techniques. loved the book, will cherish it for years...

this is a terrific book with lots of information and beautiful colors and pictures and different techniques on how to paint and mix colors.

Bought this as a gift for someone actively learning to paint. She is really enjoying it. However, the paintings illustrated in the book are all impressionist paintings. If she didn't enjoy painting in an impressionist style, she would not have enjoyed this book. 4 stars because they should have that description listed.

I hav'nt painted for a long time so the reason for purchasing this book was for a review.but to my surprise it is more than a review it really goes into detail and learned new methods from the book.more than i expected.mario Lo Re
