Exceptional performance and huge energy savings!
Exceptional performance and huge energy savings for our 16x32 Intex above-ground pool! We’ve now bought this Sun2Solar Blue 16 ft x 32 ft 8 mil solar cover twice and it has been one of the best investments we’ve made for our pool. We live in Hemet, CA where summer days regularly hit the high 90s to low 100s. With this cover on during the day, we’ve seen our 14,400-gallon pool reach **100°F** — perfect for evening swims and night parties when the air cools off. The water stays noticeably warmer overnight too, which makes a huge difference in comfort and how often we actually use the pool. The bubble design does an excellent job of trapping solar heat while reducing evaporation. We’ve cut our pool heater runtime dramatically — the energy savings alone more than pay for the cover every season. **Highly recommend pairing it with the Intex Solar Cover Reel** (the adjustable one that goes from 9–16 ft). The reel has been a game-changer for longevity. It makes rolling the cover on and off effortless, keeps it clean from leaves and debris, and prevents the usual rips, snags, and tears that destroy most solar blankets. With regular careful use and the reel, we’re easily getting **2 full seasons** (and sometimes more) out of each cover before UV exposure eventually takes its toll. That’s outstanding for an 8 mil blanket. Yes, all solar covers will eventually degrade from the sun — that’s just the nature of the material — but the performance and cost savings are so good that I happily reorder every 2–5 years without hesitation. If you have a rectangular above-ground or inground pool this size, do yourself a favor and get this cover + the reel combo. You’ll love how warm the water stays and how much less work (and money) pool maintenance becomes. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (We’ve purchased this item twice — once in 2021 and again recently — and the quality has been consistent both times.)

Deteriorated quickly BUT company stood behind it
Short version: cover was terrible but company credited me toward the thicker/better one. Long version: I'd always bought the 1200 series and tried to squeeze a second season out of it. This year, I decided to just spend a little less and just get one season (because I was usually getting blue flaking off the cover and into the pool by the end of the life of the other); it would be more expensive in the long run, but easier (I figured). When the 800 series came, I was surprised at how much thinner and flimsier it felt. It was actually hard to get on the pool, behaving like Saran Wrap. Rolling it up to uncover the pool for use was really hard... just too flimsy. Still, I figured, it's preventing evaporation and warming the pool just as effectively. But after only 7 weeks, it was sinking; virtually all of the bubbles had cracked. It really behaved like Saran Wrap, and it was impossible to roll it up. It could not be left on the pool; it was 1-2 feet under the surface in several places. To the company's credit, I sent in pictures and within two hours had a response that I could either get a free replacement or pay up the difference to the 1200 series. I paid up the difference. Soooo...save yourself the trouble and get the 1200 (or better) series right of the bat. The 800 series simply did not hold up, but credit the company for making it right.

Really Heats up Pool
This is my 2nd Pool Solar cover. It lasted 5 years and started to fall apart. So I bought another one. Between the sun and the chlorine of the pool, it takes a beating. I also have the roll up device for this cover. You simply take the solar cover and place on top of your pool (bubbles down) and cut it to the shape of your pool so it lies directly on the water. I have the one end attached to my roll up device and it's so each to roll it up and pull it back out. I usually put it away with tarps and bungee cords for the winter to keep it nice. I'll put my new one together spring of 2024. It really makes your swimming season longer. I live in Concord, CA so it gets pretty hot here. 90s and 100s all summer. With the solar cover on my pool is like a bath tub...89 to 96 degrees.

Effective, could be better quality
We've bought a number of solar covers over the years for our above ground pool. This one is effective and works great, but the quality is a bit less than others we've purchased. When it came it was stuck together in multiple places, and tore some of the bubbles right off the bat. Will be surprised if it makes it through more than 2 summers.

5x repeat happy customers! The pool is warm!
Works wonderfully! We love our pool on the warm side for evening swims. We choose this cover year after year because it is always the right price, right size, right color, right bubble shape, and Amazon’s speedy delivery. The material thickness is on the thin side, but it gets the job done! Do we expect it to last more than 1 season/year? No, but it will be a bonus if it does. We have found this cover to be the best buy to meet our swim season needs and we continue to plan to order this cover year after year and you should too! Note: we’ve purchased and used many solar pool covers over the past 23 years. We’ve purchased the thickest, most expensive cover out there; the cover with the best warranty: and those in many different colors and bubble shapes. Bottom line is: The direct sunlight combined with chlorine and manipulation on-and-off the pool affects every type of pool cover. We have managed to extend many of those covers to 2 swim seasons and no more, and this cost-effective version holds up just as well as all the others!

It Works. But...
I purchased the solar cover twice, including once from this vendor. In AZ, I will use it for two months in the spring, and then two months in the fall. The cover helps retain the heat and helps heat the pool faster when I am using the heater. In the winter it's too cold to use the heater even with the cover. I just don't want the heater to run that long to get to the desire temperature. My point is, it is exposed to the water four months of the year. I store it in the garage to avoid the intense sun here. After the first year, the air bubbles begin "breaking" and by the end of the second year, many of the bubbles just fall off, leaving me with blue parts of the bubble in the pool and on the ground. The covers are worth the investment if you understand that you will probably have to replace it every two years. Depending on your type of pool, fresh vs salt water, your experience may differ. Unfortunately, I can't find an alternative that is cost effective.

Increases pool temp within days
Works perfectly for our 7x14 pool. Within a day of being on it raised our pools temperature about 8 degrees even though the weather outside had not changed temps from the day before. Helps keep leaves, bird droppings and more from going directly into the pool.

Poor Quality and Warranty Coverage
I am very disappointed with both the quality of this solar cover and the warranty process. My solar cover began failing much sooner than expected. Most notably, it tore along the seams, which is exactly the type of issue I believed a product with a 3-year warranty would protect against. I submitted photos and contacted customer service, but my claim was denied because they determined the damage did not meet their definition of a covered manufacturing defect. Customer service was courteous and acknowledged my frustration, even stating that they understand a 3-year warranty creates the expectation that problems occurring during that time would be covered. However, they explained that the manufacturer’s warranty is extremely limited and only applies to very specific manufacturing defects, leaving customers with little recourse when the product fails prematurely. A 3-year warranty sounds reassuring, but in my experience it provides very little real protection. The cover did not hold up as expected, and when it failed, the warranty offered no meaningful support. If you’re purchasing this product because of the advertised warranty, be sure to read the fine print carefully. Based on my experience with the cover’s durability and the warranty process, I cannot recommend it.

Excellent customer service from seller NYRS ,not the same from manufacturer Sun2Solar pool blanket
I have purchase a 20'X40' solar blanket from NYRS in March 2020 and started using it from May to Sept 2020 and for a similar period in 2021. The solar blanket was winterized inside my garage at all time during the winter periods. I started seeing degradation in the product when installed this past May 2022 (see pictures) the blanket was basically "disintegrating" and "falling apart" in numerous places. I contacted the seller NYRS (which is not the manufacturer) and explained the situation, after a few very cordial back and forth between ourselves and providing them with supporting information, they have resolved this issue to my entire satisfaction and definitely stood behind the products they sell. I would not hesitate to buy again from NYRS. Unfortunately I can't say the same from the manufacturer Sun2Solar. I have owned numerous pools (3) and solar blankets over my lifetime (40 years) and I have never experienced such a quick deterioration problem on any previous blankets I have owned over such a short period of time, in all, I have used the Sun2Solar blanket less than 11 months from May 2020 to date (5 months 2020 / 5 months 2021 and 1 month 2022) . I certainly hope this is an isolated incident from the manufacturer Sun2Solar. Patrick. L
