A Night At The Playboy Mansion
H**A
Fresh sounds of new and old disco!
Dimitri from Paris seem to have a habit of being able to pick out (or in Sacrebleu's case, create) infectious tunes that seem to stick in our minds and refuse to leave our CD changers. A night at the playboy mansion is no different in the way tracks 1 through 11 flow as if we're at a hip and underground party. However, the energy seemed to tone down during the last three tracks. Perhaps this was a way to relax after all of the floor stomping tracks of 1 through 11. However, I think a better way to wind down would have been through the use of more of Dimitri's own tracks. I hope Monsieur Dimitri decides to release a new CD of his own music soon. Sacrebleu is a classic, but I am thirsting for more.

Feel Good Beats
Dimitri has chosen some really great beats for this album. Each song flows smoothly into the next one without a pause.Ths album makes you want to just sit on a balcony and watch the city lights at night with a cocktail in your hand. When I spin this album I get in the best mood and start bopping around. The only way to discribe it would be a combination of loung, house and dance beats. Each track is different from the next. This is definitely a must have for anyone who likes uptempo beats. Buy it while you can.

I was soo happy to find it available on Amazon
I originally bought this DC in a record store in Japan in 2001. Over time It got scratched. I was soo happy to find it available on Amazon. It's a groovy CD and caries memories of a wonderful two years in my life during my 20s.

Classic disco thats one of this years best party records
In an era of disco mutated into a dozen forms for the modern dancer, you need releases like this to remind you that the 70's sound was just fine, thank you. With this collection of old and new tunes Dimitri From Paris offers a cleansing of the palette, if you will; a classic sound with a bit of modern editing."Reach Inside," fires the part off right away, soulful disco that's all smooth diva crooning and blaring horns. As the disco ball descends, "Star" bounces in, featuring a sample of Aquarian Dream's "You're a Star." Sneaking in is the diva chorus scat singing of "The Groove," flaky but effective. Without checking the liner notes you'd never know the first three songs were made in the last three years (only four on the disc are from the 70's.) "Down to Love Town" is indeed from 25 years ago, Dimitri serving up a re-edit that focuses on the last few minutes of the funk-disco original. "Shangri La" has everything- snappy break intro, strings, electric guitar, even some "wakachica" (yea) and a mean drum fade leading into a great remix of Stetsasonic's "Talkin' All That Jazz." It scraps nearly all the rap to fit in funk guitar, flutes, and production tricks out the wazoo. "Outro Lugar" adds a bit of sass courtesy of Salome de Bahia. "Motivation" is party jazz that doesn't do much, but the rhythm is restored with the classic track "Give Me Love" (house heads will note it's often sampled bassline) and the wailing "Band." "Sweet Music" dishes up deep bass and a piano, leading to Pascal Pioux's smooth and classy "The Place is Rockin." The wrap-up includes the hugs and smiles of the gorgeous "Wonderful Person," and Ashford & Simpson's "Found a Cure."What you have here is one of the best party records of the year, a complete and polished package of a time brought back to life. When your friends wonder why they'd never heard these tunes before, tell them they were imports "From Paris."

a trip back to the 70's
kinda takes you back a bit - even though you might not remember every track but it stays in the same tempo and isn't too bad at all

Love the heavy orchestration
Seamless mixing. Dimitri always retains the feel and soul of the track . Very much in the John Morales stable of DJ's. Love the heavy orchestration. Passess the 'goosebump' test.
