Childhood in a Bag—And Still Slaps as an Adult
The media could not be loaded. I’ve bought this candy three times now, so clearly, I have a problem—but it’s the kind of problem I’m happy to have. For $20.99, you get a massive 32 oz bag of soft, chewy, perfectly sweet strawberry licorice strings that taste like childhood and happiness. No weird plasticky aftertaste, no stale, rubbery nonsense like the cheap stuff at the gas station. This candy is consistently fresh. Never dry, never old, no broken bits like they’ve been sitting in a warehouse since 1998. Every bite is soft, sweet, and ridiculously addicting. It’s honestly my favorite candy—straight-up nostalgia wrapped in delicious red shoestrings. Also, they’re long enough to braid, decorate cakes, or pretend you’re flossing your teeth with sugar (not recommended but hilarious). The price isn’t terrible for how much you get, especially since other brands will charge you $8 for a sad little bag that’s half air.Final Verdict: If you love strawberry licorice, this one’s a total win. Seriously, treat yourself—you won’t regret it.

Finally I have Found my shoestring Licorice!
Shoestring licorice is my favorite candy! When I was a kid, I would go to the mall and there was a cheese company (can't think of their name) that had the licorice. I would buy bags of it. I tie it up in knots and then eat it. Whenever I see a candy store at a mall or some tourist area, I walk in just to hunt shoestring licorice. Every once in awhile I would find some but more often than not, they don't have it. When I have found some in the past, many would be so hard and old but I would still eat it. I found a candy store had some the other day, an itsy bitsy bag of it with maybe 8 strings was pretty expensive. Besides that, it was horrible, it was sour and had a horrendous after taste. I could only eat 2 strings. But it got me on the search for some and I ordered from here. I was hesitant due to some of the comments about it being hard etc. Well, I got my order today and I can tell you as an absolute connoisseur of red licorice, it is Fantastic! It is strawberry, it is fresh and it ties up in the knots just as I like it. I will possibly have to get it on a subscription basis too. I am not disappointed and so happy I found how I can get my favorite candy once more. Update - I have ordered more just 4 days after receiving this one. It is so good!

Great tasting Licorice
This Licorice is really good, I was Leary of purchasing it online, but is delicious and soft. I highly recommend this Licorice. This will be my go to shoestring Licorice for now on.

Oily and tart.
Gross. So oily I had to use a paper towel to handle it. The licorice doesn’t taste like the laces that used to come in a long box when I was a kid. It's tart. Tossed it in the trash.

Very good, but not consistant
Take it from someone who purchases these laces on a regular basis . . . . As with many buyers, I originally was looking for the strawberry laces that tasted like the ones we had as kids (back in the 70's). These aren't half bad; these are as close as I've found. To boot, I'm pretty sure I've tried every one offered on the internet. I usually order two containers each time. No clue what happened, but once the two boxes didn't taste ANYTHING ALIKE! I threw one box away. I emailed seller and got zero response. And although even I thought I was crazy, I did order again and had no issues. Just Weird.

Not what we had as kids
Just ok. There is nothing I’ve tried that tastes like the shoe string laces we had as kids. It’s passable but I won’t buy again.

Good but ...
i have enjoyed licorice laces since i was a kid back during the ancient times of PRC. (Pre-Remote Controls) . a simpler time where you as the child WERE the remote control ... and the antenna technician. I recall eating licorice laces even that far back. These are tasty and fresh however at 10 DOLLARS A POUND. you might get the crab legs or shrimp scampi at that price. Of course, we see the price before ordering and this was more of a nostalgic treat that i would have otherwise said no too. like a Duran Duran CD. Once in a while you have to do things to remind yourself why you don't do them all the time. like Taco Bell for example. Still, i will enjoy these and when done it will be another year before i do it again as i get these for a friends birthday who grew up in that same ancient era PRC as me.
