Select a Protector to match your amperage load.
Highly recommended when plugging your RV into a campground power outlet. Takes only minutes to install with your hook-up. Power surges and brown outs quickly destroy sensitive electronics and refrigerator motors. Appears to be built to withstand abuse and weather. Plug designs reduce shock hazards when done correctly. Get yourself a heavy lock and security cable to lock this to the power box or pole, as surge protectors are a popular theft item in many campgrounds.

Get this one with the High and Low limit cut out it could save you life.
This Surge Gard saved my electrical system on my first time using it. PG&E went out at this camp ground we were staying at the backup generator kicked in for the campground and was putting out about 150 to 165 volts so the Surge Gard did its job and turned off the power. I kept track of the voltage while security was driving around checking all the campers for damage. One campers TV caught fire others microwave circuit board burned up etc. thank you Surgery Gard for a wonderful product.

Easy to use!
I bought this surge protector for many reasons. The warranty, both protection of electricity going into and within my TT, and ease of use. I used it on a 2 week trip with many stops and it worked perfectly. The nice thing I like is being able to plug it into the outlet to test the outlet before setting up the trailer. If it shows a problem I can notify the park and move to another site.

Frustrating to pair with phone
I bought this specifically because of the positive reviews about the Bluetooth feature. Hooked it up and it can't get the Bluetooth to pair from my phone. Dug a little deeper and found out many more are having the same issue. It does what it is supposed to do but I can't use the app which is why I chose this model.***Update*** I contacted the developer who sent me an alternate set of directions that worked. Basically don't try to pair the device with your phone until you have it where you can see the screen. It flashed the pair code briefly and you have to watch for it. Hopefully they include them with each unit from now on. Works as advertised and I like being able to see how much power my camper is using from my phone.

been lucky too long
been camping without one many times. Live in Florida, lightning Capital. past Holiday, a friend was camping when a large power surge went through camp and burned out his trailer. I don't wish to test my luck any more. If you don't have one ,get one! This is a good unit. Remember, this costs money but during a campout, the damage will cost more. I also bought the wireless unit with it.

New surge protector
When RV’ing I plugged into a 30A and the red light went on then I unplugged it and re plugged it again and the light’s were green letting me know it was ok to continue, I rechecked it while still camping and when I got home I noticed my Rengoy unit in my RV had shorted out. Do I have any recourse? Do you know of any problems with this surge protector giving you false reading? I thought I had bought a New Surge protector!

Southwire Surge Guard Portable 30-Amp - Paid for itself the 1st use
We used this product on our last outing August 2019. It was in use during a thunder storm and protected our RV. There were a few severe lightning strikes right around the campground. I knew the Southwire Surge Guard took care of the surges. The people 2 sites down from us did not have a similar surge protector and they lost their inverter/charger. Thank you Southwire. The Southwire Surge Guard is worth every dollar.

While expensive this device provides great confidence. Monitors all aspects of power supply including frequency and under voltage which I really wanted and is not available in all surge protectors. This device is rugged and easy to install. Used it all summer with no issues. I really like that it has a life time guarantee and my protected appliance and covered as well.

On our second trip ever South Guard EMS detected a faulty receptacle, open ground and shut down before we even plugged in the RV. Guess we made the right decision to spend the extra $ on an EMS instead of just a surge protector.

Just used it this past weekend, safe

Cheaper to buy this then replace the computer in the trailer.

Came in box with zip ties that hold it in box cut. Item lose in box . Holes in box where plug prongs cut through. Plug prong weathered an tarnished from use.. I don’t know if someone returned it after using it because it wasn’t working or simply used it and didn’t want it. It seems to work ,but they advertise as new product, so I will return it for refund. For $385.99 I definitely will not take a chance and feel I can’t trust this company. Review of product is low but the product itself is probably ok. Really needed it for rv this weekend but will have to send it back.
