If you follow the directions exactly you will have no problems building this model. The parts are not easy to remove from the sheets but take your time. Wiggle them out and they will come out perfectly. Do not be afraid to use the wax. The more you use it the easier the build and it will work as described. Do not use the tooth picks supplied, use quality round ones that you can get from the store. This is a model for those who have been doing them for some time and know what is required. Once complete it is worth the money because it looks great and again works as described. Oh I forgot to mention that there are little to no burrs to contend with. Have fun with it as I did.

This is my second car from ugears, the quality is exceptional, many hours of relaxing enjoyment for me, the more time you spend cleaning and lubing the proper marked areas the more pleased you’ll be in the final assembly

Como siempre esta marca no defrauda. Tiene muy buena calidad la madera y el montaje se adecúa a terminar siempre bien la maqueta. Solo precisar que el precio suele ser algo caro.

Beim Zusammenstellen der Layouts für die Grundplatten muss ein Tetris-Meister am Werk gewesen sein. Das macht das eine oder andere Mal das Auffinden von Teilen schwieriger. Gerade dann, wenn sie ursprünglich innerhalb bereits verbauter, größerer Teile untergebracht waren und nun "lose" herumliegen.Bei anderen Bausätzen fand ich das Werkzeug zum Rausbrechen überflüssig. Hier hilft es; es gibt eine Menge kleiner Teile, die man mit den Fingern nur schwer ausbrechen kann. Die Anleitung ist grundsätzlich sehr präzise; manchmal gibt aber auch die Vergrößerung noch Rätsel auf und man setzt mehrfach an. Bei Teilen mit "Schauseite" oder irgendwelchen Markierungen ist immer Aufpassen angesagt; nichts frustriert mehr, als 2 Seiten weiter festzustellen, dass man was falsch rum gesteckt hat. Das ist durchaus an einigen Stellen möglich. Das Trennen bereits verbundener Teile ist machbar, führt aber bei der extremen Passgenauigkeit oft dazu, dass sich Sperrholzschichten ablösen. Sekundenkleber hilft. Deswegen habe ich mir angewöhnt, lieber mehr zu schleifen und zu wachsen, als in der Anleitung angegeben. Normalerweise sitzen die Teile dennoch bombenfest, sind aber mit Gefühl und einer schmalen Klinge auch mal wieder zu lösen. Beim Zusammenstecken ist oft Kraft nötig. Man merkt das durchaus später in den Fingern. Gewalt sollte man nicht anwenden, lieber sichergehen, dass man nicht etwas verkantet angesetzt hat.Mit der Zeitangabe "~ 10 Stunden" würde man m.E. bei diesem Fahrzeug vielleicht hinkommen, wenn man es nur zum Hinstellen als Schauobjekt baut. Für die Nutzung der Funktionen wie Antrieb und Schaltung nicht. Hier reibt Holz auf Holz. Wo immer es in der Anleitung empfohlen wird: Wachsen und Schleifen. Auch dann, wenn man gerade noch nicht sieht, was das Bauteil später eigentlich tun soll. Das Licht geht einem oftmals verspätet auf.Weniger angetan bin ich von den mitgelieferten Gummiringen. Für den Motor taugen Sie. Für die Federung der Vorderachse meinetwegen auch. Bei Funktionsteilen habe ich an Hand der Bilder in der Anleitung den Eindruck, dort wären viel feinere Gummis verwendet worden. Das Knoten habe ich inzwischen raus und die Größe der Schleifen kann man auch als "ungefähr" nehmen und nicht millimetergenau. Ist schließlich Gummi und dehnbar. Der Knubbel/Knoten gerät mir aber auch beim Ziehen bis zur Belastungsgrenze fast immer zu groß. Blöd dann, wenn sich beim Zusammenstecken viel später herausstellt, dass der Knoten besser "auf der anderen Seite" liegen würde, weil er einer neuen Komponente im Weg ist.Alles in allem bin ich dennoch von dem Roadster, wie auch von den Uhren und den kleinen STEM-Bausätzen sehr angetan. Eine Lok und ein LKW warten noch verpackt schon auf den Zusammenbau. Und das werden nicht die letzten sein.

I bought this as a 'lockdown' project, and it kept me occupied for about a week....This kit is really very cleverly designed and manages to pack in a lot of working features using wooden gears, cams and bearings. It is great fun to build, but does require care and patience to get everything to work correctly. I do not agree with the reviews that claim it doesn't work - it does, provided care is taken in the assembly. Bear in mind that all the moving parts are plywood, so all rubbing and rolling surfaces need to be carefully smoothed with the sandpaper provided before lubrication with wax (also provided). Then each part of the mechanism needs to be checked for correct and smooth operation before moving on. it takes time, but the result is worth it.My one gripe is the need to create different lengths of elastic bands from the set of standard length ones provided by tying knots in the elastic. This really is fiddly (and not very accurately done in my case). Also, there is quite a lot of 'mechanism' packed into a smallish space, and the knots in the elastic can easily get in the way and stop things working - annoying !Apart from that, definitely 5 stars - now that mine is finished it will rush about 10m across a smooth floor.
