The world Rook has built is at once strange and familiar, featuring multiple dimensions and an exciting magical system. The characters are relatable and there was just enough background detail to keep my mind engaged without slowing the pace of the book. I have limited time to devote to reading novels these days and being able to thoroughly explore the plot arc of this book without a month-long commitment made for a rewarding reading experience. I would highly recommend this novel to fans of fantasy and romance alike. I can hardly wait for the second installment!
