The diamond size of my fence is 2.5". Will your product work for my fence?

Yes, it will work. The ‘coverage’ will be about 70-75%; whereas on my fence with smaller openings, it was more like 80-85% covered. If 75% is adequate for you in terms of privacy (no product gives 100%, except a total fabric cover - which won’t last very long), then go for it. If you want better coverage, looks for a product whose slats are wider.

Will vines still be able to climb up the fence when this is added?

I think vines can still climb. I have a plant on the other side of my fence that I have to keep trimming because it grows through.
