I've used Magic Sliders for many years. They are superior to any other carpet glide and work smoothly and silently on my wood floors. They stay on my chairs and last a long time. They don't gum up too badly with hair and debris. They are easy to install and to change out. Recently, my local stores have not been stocking them. Instead, they are stocking stick on pads that I know are poor. I found these on Amazon and ordered enough for a year or more.On my heavily used kitchen table chairs, I change them every 6 months to prevent scratching. On my less used dining room chairs, I change them every 12-18 months.

We put in new hardwood floors that look great and we wanted to keep them that way. We stuck on pads to the legs of heavy wood chairs. The problem was the felt pads and the glue kept coming off (onto the floor). So far, the Magic Sliders do the job wonderfully. They stay in place on the bottoms of chairs that get a lot of use, and they protect our beautiful floor. Rather than magic, I think this product is well made, with a good design.

These are difficult to find instore, so I am so happy I was able to get them here. Be very careful when putting them on, though; the edges are metal, so if you hammer too hard you can bend the outer ring and virtually ruin the slider. Other than that they stay on well, are low profile, and the black outer rim is much less noticable than the large, white plastic alternative. I ordered extra so I'll always have some on hand.

just what I needed

For years I've had to replace the stick-on protectors over & over. These were quite a find, since they stay put! A little more work than just peeling & sticking, but it's worth it to not have to worry about my floors.

The felt padding looks as though it will compact, leaving the plastic rim to take the weight and probably scratch the floor

These wear out faster because there is less surface area than a pad cut to fill the whole area. When you throw them out it is nails and plastic going into the landfill as well as the worn out pad. It is cheaper and better just to get the stick on pads.
