Installed as instructed. The wick is wet, but I don't see the volume of liquid reduce. It's been installed for 3 months.

We were losing water pressure, and got to the point where we could not run 2 showers at once. After using res care and a couple of regen cycles on our 11-year-old softener, we got our water pressure back! Been using this stuff for the last 6 months, and love it.

Love this system, cleaning your softener is one of those oops i forgot again because well its buried in the basement. Hooked it up and now its worry free and with the 1 gallon refill I'm set for 6 months :)

I always wondered how it feeds the tank. Has a wick that drips the solution into the res tank. Easy to install and saves me lots of time.

Bought this on the recommendation of my water softener installer as the better alternative to using the other iron-out solutions which actually only work properly if dissolved and poured into the brine tube at the time of regeneration and as the kids say, "ain't nobody got time for that".Drill the few holes (I drilled holes in salt tank much smaller than the 1/4" size specified in the instructions), install the bracket (works like a peg-board hook), attach the wick tube, and you're done. System delivers the solution automatically via the drip tube into the brine tube so that it's available when the system regenerates in the middle of the night. You can buy refill solution in gallon bottles and keep it next to the brine tank. Whenever you check your salt level, you can peak at the supply bottle and, when needed, refill it from the gallon jug.The drip rate for the kit I purchased is one ounce per day so it should go 2 months before the feed bottle is empty.

Setup was easy. Drilled a few holes. Primed the water soaked wick. Set it up and walked away. The next day my wife called me at work and said there were issues with brown water. That evening when I got home from work the ResCare feeder bottle was empty. What should have been several weeks of fluid drained via the wick in less then a day. The system ran the normal backwash the night I installed it. After 7-8 manual cycles of the softener over few days we were back to normal. I think the product does a serious job of cleaning the resin of any build up. However, its borderline dangerous to use in the feeder system. I'll pick up another bottle and dose the system manually every few weeks with the correct amount. But I do not trust the wick system to manage flow of the product.

This stuff is a money saver! My well water has sulfur and is hard. The water softener is 16 years old. Over the past few years, I have noticed rust stains on some surfaces. I had the water tested and it now contains iron also. Both companies that tested the water, wanted to sell me an iron remover unit to the tune of $1700! I stumbled upon this product while searching Google. I ordered a bottle. What did I have to lose? I ran my 16 year old water softener through 2 cycles back to back two consecutive days. I cleaned all the rust stains in the toilet, sinks, shower and washing machine. It's been months since I've started using this and no rust stains! I am sold and will continue using this forever. Works as described but used to much res care. Tip: cut the res care with water. When filling the bottle I use 50/50 water and res care.

my softener didn't seem to be working well, suspect fouled resin bed, this product seems keeps the resin in good condition- noticed improvement within a few days, and after 6 weeks of use, we are seeing a big difference in softness
