Excellent compact flash for the Olympus OM-D
This compact flash works great on the Olympus OM-D. From my experience produces sufficient light for subjects up to 25' in direct mode and up to 15' away in bounce mode (with 9' ceilings).Having said that, I restrict my evening/night photography lenses to either the Panasonic-Leica 25mm/1.8 lens or the Olympus 14-54mm II F/2.8-3.5 lens (with MMF3 adapter), both "faster" lenses than the 12-50mm kit lens.I find that setting the scene mode to "Night+Portrait" on my Olympus OM-D produces pretty pleasing images when taking pictures of people outdoors, since this flash just works to fill in the light. However, there is nothing to beat bounce mode when taking pictures of people indoors where the ceiling is under 9 or 10' high. (In bounce mode, I set my camera to "A" (automatic) mode).A couple of other good features, it that the flash can be folded forward when not in use. It also cycles pretty fast and has a test button on the rear. I have not tried the remote modes, so I cannot comment on that.

Perfect! Fast Shipping - After Use Defective
05/2013 Perfect! Fast Shipping!12/2013 Dead circuit board within warranty, and Olympus fixed no problem.12/2014 Same problem. I only use during family get togethers a few times a year. I get about a couple dozen shots, then I get the dreaded battery low flashing led signal, but new batteries don't fix the issue ... no longer functional. Olympus wants $75 to evaluate/fix on a problem that should not have reoccurred after initial fix - inherent defect on this flash

cute and effective but bad mannual
compact in size and lightweight, powered by 2 x AAA batteries. GN25 is enough for room shooting, especially when I have 2 of them.Btw, it could be remotely controlled by original flash comes with the Olympus camera itself. Nice feature for me to do group flash. With the manual inside, I could do nothing besides testing. Only with support from other users, I started to get it paired with my E-PM1. That is why I gave 4 star rating. One thing more, the steel look finish will be easily scratched in any way.

Works well in TTL, just up close though
Picked this up as a rebate was available for its purchase price with a OMD body. The unit is under powered for anything more then a few feet away, really disappointed with its output, and that it runs on 2- AAA batteries, and for not very long. I have used 3 sets of batteries, and maybe shot 20 pics with them! Seems every time I get it out to use, the batteries are dead. The issue is it has a flaky button to turn it on, you can't really tell it is starting up, and only know its on when the pilot lite comes on or blinks for low battery. It is compact, it's not really made for the OMD body, so I guess they need to get them out of the distributors hands for lack of sales. As a micro 4/3rds standard accessory, it does work on the Lumix cameras as well. For the price, I would get a third party unit with more power, when it comes to light output, smaller is not better.

good but too expensive.
Functional but not very powerful. Definitely overpriced, but that is to be expected for a name brand flash.

Small and Useful
This flash is great. It is small and compact on my OM-D. I wouldn't leave it on there all the time, but if you chose to do so, it wouldn't be that big of a headache. The recycle times seem to be good enough. It is not a professional flash however. The ability to off-camera flash is great. It is really easy on Olympus bodies. I think this ability is baked in from the E-P3 forward. It takes just a couple of button pushes to get the camera into the right mode to do off camera flash. Overall, it is a great product.

Poorly made battery eating JUNK
Second replacement just crapped out again. This is (was) my THIRD unit. Original flash stopped functioning after maybe 1/2 dozen uses, less than a month of ownership. Olympus replaced w/ factory refurb. Second unit never worked, Olympus replaced again with ANOTHER refurb. Third unit died last night at Christmas eve party (terrible timing) with the exact same issues as the first lemon. I get about a few dozen shots, then the dreaded battery low flashing signal, but new batteries don't fix the issue...no longer functional. Made in China and BEWARE. Worst and most frustrating part of my Olympus PEN ownership.

Good, as Long as You Recognize Its Limitations
I use this flash on an OM-D E-M5. Short version: it's better than the tiny included unit, but not as useful as a full-on speedlight. Its main advantage is of course the ability to bounce-flash. However, here are the caveats:- It only tilts up 60 degrees and down 15, the latter ostensibly for close-up work. It does not swivel, thus limiting its use in portrait orientation. Tilting forward, there is a prominent lens shadow with the kit with the 12-50mm kit lens, defeating the purpose of the very thing it's intended to accomplish.- Shot-to-shot recycle time is very slow. Annoyingly slow. Plan ahead. (Some reviews I've read say the opposite, that it's actually pretty fast. I respectfully disagree, but it's subjective.)- Devours batteries like Pac-man at a smorgasbord. Rechargeable batteries help, and also noticeably improverecycling speed.- Expensive considering its limitations. Now, the good:+ Light and compact. Takes up very little space in a camera bag. Good for traveling light.+ Folds flat on the camera. Auto-on when flipped up.+ Simple to operate.+ Wireless remote control from camera. If size and portability are priorities, but you still want some flexibility, here's your flash. Its so pocketable that it doesn't make sense not to bring it. But don't expect it to do everything a full-size speedlight will. As long as you realize that, it's perfectly good.
